How many of you are utter failures at some point in life?

i just failed today T.T studied so hard for one test, only to find out i get 10/22

For example, i got a friend who used to be on course to get second class upper in NUS. Then somehow in her final semester, she didnt do as well and miss out by one grade. So she got 3.97 overall cap when 4.00 is what she needs to get second class upper honours. She feels devastated. And this honours stigma affected her whole life even now. (she earn less per month/cant get better job)

Another example would be my BMT army friend. Hes very athletic and friendly. He wants to sign on as officer. He even won Best physical Trainee for the whole platoon. Most people like him except for one section(8people). Maybe those people backstab him and grade him very badly in peer appraisal and eventually he got into sispec instead of OCS. His life go downhill after that.

there are other cases of course. Like some people get 22points for L1R4 cannot get in poly. No diploma. But at least O levels can repeat.

Army and uni stuff cannot repeat. Need a lot of money if you want to get masters.

They are utter failures, Ferret. It's not anything to do with NUS, OCS or any other label upon which one chooses to base one's identity.

No, where these two losers have failed is that they let such insignificant events bring their lives to a grinding halt. The have utterly and completely failed to do what most living creatures do - adapt, overcome and evolve.

you become an utter failure only when u allow yourself to be defeated. If u dont give up you'll succeed one day.. but if u give up then u really become a failure.

What is the meaning of failure?
Success and failure are results.
You do a series of acts and the results are according to those acts.
Whether success or failure the results are correct.

You study, did well in exams and got good grades = correct.
You study, did your best in exams and got not so good grades = correct
You study, and give up on the exams and fail = correct

So there is nothing wrong with success or failure, as they are all correct happenings.

There is only your feelings, whether you are happy or sad with the results.
You get what you want. = Happy
You did not get what you want. = Dissapointed

A failure?, there is actually no such thing.

I think there r time tat ppl feel tat they are failures at certain ot of time in life. The most impt is not be to be burdened by the failures and carried on with life. Treat the failures as moving a step closer to success

You know, I'm on course to experiencing what the first person experienced. I've just finished my third year in NUS, and my current CAP stands at 4.13. It's been hard going, trying to keep it above 4.00.

I've been telling myself that even if it does drop below 4.00, it's still not the end of the world for me. I just hope that should that really happen, I would be able to take it like a man and move on with my life.

Ai Yo... Life is full of ups and downs... Your army friend better not sign on... One down moment in life and all his life collapse... In Army, lots of downs and ups... If he really wanted, he can prove his worthiness and get into OCS from SISPEC also. That show that he does not worth going into SISPEC and that is just an excuse to feel down....

Your other friend can always retake the course one mah... another excuse user pax... There are people in this world earning lesser and living more miserable than her. Ask her jump off from the top of the westin hotel and one less whinner in SG.
