Height restrictions at JB Checkpoint (or maybe Woodlands?). Remember its height limit is 4m, not fit for double-decker usage, same as airport. So only single deckers and coaches can be used. 2-door boarding is possible at checkpoints. If not SBST would have used Volvo B9TLs on its own market long time ago.

If there is a height restriction, the double decker will probably it will become a Hippo fully open-top bus.

There is 851 from Marymount to Yishun, there is 74 from AMK Ave 6 till King Alber Park, there is 157 from Macritchie to Bukit Batok and several other services like 66/174 from Bukit Timah till Bukit Batok.

Hence loading on 852 is so low. It is there because of legacy reasons. Even if it is done away with, won't cause an eye lid to battle except those who insist people take 852 from Yishun to Bukit Batok (which is really a joke).

Did get 2 fleet add. Had only 13 buses operating, now 15. But yes it took 3 years after BSEP to get those fleet add.

you're right. 156 loading is not that low BusAnalayzer claimed. Buses can be packed along Boundary Rd to Bishan Stn. There is also loading from Bishan to Thomson.

Okay fine - didn't say it does not have people boarding 156. The current fleet manages the current load quite nicely. It is not a packed-to-door kind of service. Some timings may fetch around 50-55 pax, most will be around 20-30 pax.

Hence, there is no need for any fleet add. Just as a reminder, even 156A was withdrawn, which is quite rare to happen during the BSEP fleet add scenario. It is done because the loading over the years has significantly dropped on 156 (and more so after sv 50 was launched).

852 is deprived of demand coz its main sectors have alternatives...

I have already said many times, 852 has great potential, it provides foundation for DTL2 rationalisation... So that svcs like 67 and 157 could fly BKT Rd... And surplus buses could boost 852 currently unappealing freq

I agree with your point, however 852 is still needed to lessen the loading on 74. Esp Ard late afernoon to end of PM peak where the Bt Timah stretch is filling the buses even though there is DTL now. Lesser people board to Marymount due to DTL-CCL, but people are taking 852 to further up like YCK where 851 only duplicates from Marymount.

There is sv 100 every 05 mins from Serangoon Interchange in PM. Every alternate bus is 100A.

Like Henderson Road was chopped, Upper Aljunied should have also.

last time I live in Joo Seng, must wait for sv 100 for 15 minutes. That was on 2007/2008. Now really great improvement.

I think these two type of svc is exceptional,demand not that great afterall..What they can do is tweak the freq between 9-16 mins during peak and 14-19 mins during off peak.

64 not so bad... Frequency is actually 12-14 mins... But yes the long looping point can cause delays...

Sterling/Mei Ling is a dying estate... Lot of people from there already have moved on to newer developments.

There used to be a time when 64 would come out full from Mei Ling, now just has about 25-30 pax on most timings during peak hours. Off peak even worse.

64's main loading comes around Little India-Macpherson stretch where you also have 65 and 66 in parallel.

141 from toa payoh to Caldecott MRT Station timing need to improve during peak hours. maybe 141m loop from the caldecott mrt station to toa payoh will be better during peak hour. 235 is way too long to serve people from toa payoh mrt to caldecott mrt station. or maybe bring in 231.

But Caldecott Stn no ppl leh. 231 amend also can, got sv 59 with DDs to compliment. Can also amend sv 156 to provide new connection to Macritchi/Mt Alvernia and Catholic Jc there.

Maybe once TEL is up and running may need to boost 141 but as of now doing okay. Buses have around 30-45 pax between Caldecott and Toa Payoh at most peak hour timings. So not sure if there is need to add bus when loading throughout is just so-so.

235 got around 3-4 fleet add so the frequency is pretty good and connects most part of Toa Payoh town with direct connection to Caldecott MRT.
