Someone in SBS is looking over my shoulder at the list of VO3X that I have not ridden on yet- five of the eight have now have life extensions, the other three will be known 1st June (9524), 26th June (9550) and 7th September (9579). Will now have to insert a couple of days in Singapore into my autumn trip (from the UK).....!

Actually, if you take a look at the Jun 1 batch of B2 VO3xs, in my opinion, there's quite abit of VO3xs that might be going off from that batch. Esp those which haven't been repainted at al in recent months (9518R 9528L etc).

Not Extended; De-Registering On 01 June 2014:
SBS9519M, SBS9528L, SBS9534T, SBS9536M, SBS9537K, SBS9540A, SBS9542U

9537K is abit of a surprise though to be de-reg, given how 9518R managed to be extended, when I thought 9537K shld have a lower mileage by now (since it was perm Sv 6 as a S-shift somemore for quite a long while since it went in..) compared to 9518R. That bus likely has some terminal engine probs..

The other 6 in my opinion, are due to go because of high mileage again. Just look at the high-demand svcs they've done previously.

Then again, there's still those VO3xs like 9524Y 9522C 9526S 9535R 9539E which would have similarly-high mileage and in my opinion likely to go, but they still got extended.. Oh well.

Lifespan of this bus has already been extended for 2 years. Furthermore, refurbishment of DDs is not the factor for deciding lifespan extensions of DDs.

Refurbished ducts & maybe repainted liveries isn't an accurate gauge.

But the depots (maybe except SLBP) tend to give those clear-cut extended VO3xs a new coat of paint when nearing their impending lifespan expiry dates from what I observed.

Those not repainted in recent months but yet extended, imo they are the few which managed to scrape through the final scrutineering to be extended. 9518R is a very very good example of this..

Vice versa for those repainted recently but not extended; they probably developed some terminal probs within the bus / chassis after the repaint which they might deem it unfeasible to continue running for another few years..

Spotted 9296E (BN 9) in BNDEP's unofficial lay-up area parked 2 lots away from 9510L (which was de-reg recently..) as of today.

9296E's official lifespan expiry is 28 Jun 2014, but from the looks of it, guess they took the bus off the roads alr 1 month before it's last day.
