I think u could visit the forum singaporean oversea. In that forum that are quit a few of them living in europe. Get to know them and who knows u can meet them for travel. I have been travelling to other countries bcos of work by myself alone and the best thing in this is to train urself to be more independent. Its a good time to train that and also get to know more friends.

As to ur friend who is going to 'fly ur kite', if I am u i will never never ask her out for any trip. Ppl like this does not deserve my attention anymore.

Lastly, while u are there for 8 mths, it an opportunity to travel cos u might not have this chance again in the future and u will regret it. Like myself now, I am also thinking ways to get out the small town in the states altot I am very afraid of driving long distance. Cheers~! Wink

And one thing I need to add is...u are here for one week only, so u might feel not used to the enviroment...so maybe u can observe the enviroment first before u can actually plan for anything or trips....cos its not fun to get urself lost in bigger countries and in ur case is europe. Get a GPS if u r drving. Getting lost during ur trip is super turn off as it wasting time and u only have weekends to travel, rite?? Anyway the key word is to plan. Spend some time planning before u excute anything. ok? Enjoy Wink

yup. she did. and she did not even tell me about her easter plans. How i know abt it? coz im sitting at the cubicle next to her. i can hear her discussing abt travelling issue with her bf in sg (on the phone) and calls to book train tickets.

Its quite bad to act like this i think. So secretive, and din even bother to notify me. I onli casually asked her once, and she jus say she going with her bf. Fr then, i heard nothing from her mouth. Onli thru "eavesdropping" but i much not hear anything. just makes me feel upset and disappointed.

she likes to tell me to " u go first" " u go urself lor.. "
quite mani times. hard to develop close frenship if she is acting this way.
so hard to get along sometimes.

another incident. at 1st we both badly wanted to get broadband for our apartment. Then we realised that all plans are 12 mths contract.
Then she tells me we shld nt get bb, jus get dial up cheaper.
then next day she say, her bf wil be gettin one when he comes over, so mite as well use at his place. I tink quite paiseh, but said nothing.

then now she say she not sharing liao. ask me get it myself if i want.

haha.. she is this kind one.

At any rate, it is great not to have someone like that to cramp your style too. Plus its much better to find out she is inconsiderate NOW than when you are already travelling with her. It's no fun to travel with someone who is only sensitive to her own needs Smile

In the meantime, I think 8 months is not a long time at all! It's a very short time when you consider that you have to WORK most of the time. Do treasure that time you have there and not waste it! Smile Try to let the excitement that you are in a new country! You are ready to travel! And your own travel plans wash over the temporary hurt that you feel Smile

If you are not experienced in travelling alone, sometimes it can be dangerous. So perhaps you want to stick to 'safer' routes first. Take care and have fun Smile I wish I'm in UK working!

Yea, its shocking that feelings n perception of someone can change jus by living tog less than 1 wk.. I walked fr city to home todae..got lost abit and finally got back..felt better abt myself and i can get to n fro without much help.

It is challenging and yet a lot of fun when you learnt to move around on your own. Speaking from experience because previosuly I was on business trip alone in one part of Philippines too and most time I need to do a lot of traveling on my own too. Just got to be familarize with the transport system and moving around. Jia YOu!!
