Thank you for the meticulous recommendations.
I would like to inform you that in any amendment made to any
route, there will be people who would gain, while some skeptically
affected. It is therefore necessary that the repercussion on
patrons are gingerly appraised in advance of any amendment we may
hereafter carry out.
I have delved into your feedback to alter service 502 and
introduce services 501 and 505.
From my findings, it would appear that a consequential faction
of existing patrons will be adversely affected if we change the
route of service 502. They would lose their direct link between
Jurong and the Central Business District, where the Orchard Road
and the Marina Bay are located.
I have seen the route of service 501 which you had proposed.
While I acknowledge that this duplicates the route of existing
service 502 between Jurong and the Central Business District, I am
sorry to inform you that this is not a better alternative to how
the existing route of service 502 is designed.
The existing route of service 502 is economical, considering it
takes the shortest possible alignment to navigate to and from the
two areas it serve. Should we apply the route of service 501 you
had advised, additional mileage would be incurred and fares may
have to increase to correspond with the rise in costs of operations
as a result.
With regards to the idea of introducing service 505 between
Jurong East and Seng Kang, I wish to inform you that it is not
financially practical to run this service, as my observations have
shown that very little people travel between these two places at
any period of the day.
Bearing in mind of the above, I am sorry to inform you that I am
not able to acquiesce your requests. In spite of that, every
suggestion is important. Do rest assured that all of us here have
noted your suggestions and will allow for them when we want to
suggest express bus routes.
Thank you for writing in.
