How about new bus service from BoonLay looping at Japanese/Chinese Gdn Rd via Yuan Ching Rd?

I believe there was a similar route to Chinese Gdn and Japanese Gdn long time ago but it was withdrawn.

I would suggest 78 to terminate at Clementi Int instead of looping at Clementi, there was once I went to Tg Penjuru for internship (in Apr 2015) for 1 week and 78's frequency combined with the massive jam at Clementi MRT caused crazy bunching in both directions around 5:30pm-6:30pm on weekdays, 3 78 DDs are plied back to back at Tg Penjuru in the direction towards JE Int due to the jam at Clementi and the frequency can be quite long as well due to the bunching.

Then again, it may be possible to extend some services to make space. 173 can be extended to loop at Clementi Ave 3 (or even Ave 1) -- given it's already a looping service. 175 can be extended to start from BBDEP. At worst, there's still Kent Ridge.

Extending 175 does seem like a good idea, so that those commuters going to West Coast from Clementi MRT can just wait at Commonwealth Ave West bus stop for 175/201, instead of choosing between 175 at interchange and 201 at MRT.

Only drawback I can foresee is the loss of connection from Ave 3 (NTUC FairPrice bus stop) to West Coast.

Amending more bus services to existing bus depots isn't exactly a good idea with the implementation of GCM, as the bus depot (excluding Bulim/Loyang) may not be carried forward to another operator. It is not even known if BBDEP will be retained for GCM with the LTA building so many bus depots to replace the existing ones.

In fact I'm wondering whether bus services terminating in SBST AMDEP (45/265/268) may fall under Sg Seletar Package, which could potentially impact their terminating points even if SBST wins the package.

78 bunching common. In fact between 5.00pm-5.30pm, buses depart Clementi Interchange at 05 mins interval to pick up the peak hour 5.30-6pm crowd along Tanjong Penjuru to Jurong East. Back to back DDs can get full during this time. At other times like all industrial estates, loading remains mediocre.

People usually prefer 201 to 175. 201 frequency is 10-14 mins while sv 175 frequency can be 15-18 mins depending on time.

Toa Payoh Interchange >> PIE (Trellis Towers) >> Balestier Road >> Ah Hood Road >> Jalan Rajah >> Whompoa Road >> Jalan Bahagia >> Jalan Tenteram (looping point) and back to interchange.

Deployment: 2 SDs, 2 DDs (just like 143M).

Withdraw 139M. Service 139 continues to operate on current route.

Bus service 68 (Bukit Batok Interchange – Bulim Drive – Bukit Batok Interchange)

This bus services plies Bukit Batok Central, Bukit Batok Avenue 1, Jurong East Central, Jurong East Avenue 1, Jurong Town Hall Road, Boon Lay Way, Jalan Boon Lay, Jurong West Avenue 2, Bulim Avenue, Bulim Drive. It loops at Bulim Drive and returns in the opposite direction of the same route it took to get here.

The route is around nineteen kilometres in length and it takes approximately thirty minutes to one hour to complete.

This is a beautiful bus service which benefits people from all walks of life.

- The adults working in the Bulim Industrial Estate can use it to connect to the MRT at Lakeside, Chinese Garden and Bukit Batok stations.

- The elderly can use it to get to the Saint Joseph’s Home.

- The children can use it to get to Corporation Primary School, River Valley High School, Boon Lay Garden Primary School, Canadian International School, Shuqun Secondary School or Crest Secondary School.

- People in the North will also be able to enter the Jurong region directly via this bus service, without having to interchange at the heavily-used Jurong East MRT Station.

you know, as a resident living in the North, I rather still take the MRT to JR as I dont need to pay twice. In addition, I prefer taking 990 as it goes to Jurong as well, although this route complements 187

My point was in response to SBS8002T's suggestion of getting 78 to terminate at Clementi Int. Should that be a necessity, 175 would have been a good choice to extend, as compared to the other long haul trunk services at Clementi Int.

I was thinking of 14 to terminate at Bukit Merah and 7 to terminate at Kent Ridge instead to make way for svc 78 and 1 new service cover the deleted sector of svc 14 up to Bt Merah.
