Better to reuse the service number 111 for the eastern stretch, seeing that 111's route is largely preserved. Then it will make more sense to see that 111 is extended along 14's route to Bedok North Rd, and further to Tampines, while 14 is cut to Queen St.

Do also consider that the Tampines - Ghim Moh route would still be 30 km long, not much better than the current route of 14.

Either 18 or 69 would now have to be modified to start from Bedok and loop at Tampines instead.

Do also consider that the Tampines - Ghim Moh route would still be 30 km long, not much better than the current route of 14.

Either 18 or 69 would now have to be modified to start from Bedok and loop at Tampines instead.

However you split sv 14, it will still result in a long route. sv 14 will have to do the Orchard stretch at both ends. You cannot make it to loop as that would make it even more disastrous than today.

Hence, you need it to terminate somewhere closer to Orchard. What options are there?

- Bukit Merah Interchange (closest)

- Ghim Moh/Bunoa Vista (a little further away)

Makes perfect sense to merge with 111 given that there is route parallelism all the way from Stamford/Suntec. Also 111 can be preserved for NEL in future.

This route is good. It provides connections to Tampines West and Tampines East stations on the Downtown Line which are currently not available.

At the same time, it provides the East-West intra-town connection in parts of Tampines that are not covered by route 293.

However, the length of the route is around 30 km, which may be too long for a bus route.

To shorten the route, I would like to recommend that the route cut short at Tampines Avenue 4. The route from Tampines Avenue 8 can be Ave 1 - Ave 4 - Ave 3 - St 81 - Ave 3 - Ave 4 - Ave 1.

Whereas for the section at Bedok, it can be another route suggestion.

Currently, there is no bus connection between Kaki Bukit Avenue 1 and Eunos Bus Interchange. Meanwhile, the Downtown Line Kaki Bukit station opens next year.

For the above two reasons, I would like to suggest a new bus route.

Bus route 152

The length of this route is 9.62 kilometres and the estimated travel time of this route is 49 minutes.

For this bus service, I recommend using five single decker buses on around thirteen minutes frequency.

51% of this route duplicates route 15, and 60% of it duplicates route 60 - similar to new route 308 where 67% of that new route duplicates route 172.

Nonetheless, 40% of this route is new.

No, not 60. If want, re-route 21 to cover that section. 60 offers the direct bus connection to Eunos MRT for people living along Bedok Reservoir Road. If we re-route 60 that way, we will remove that direct bus connection. I rather we leave 60 alone and touch other routes instead, like 21, 66, etcetera. Thanks.

Service 36 extension to Harbourfront Interchange

From Changi Airport PTB2, follow normal routing to Orchard Blvd, skips Tomlinsion Road:

Routing towards CGA from Tanglin Road to Orchard is similar to Svc 111 from Tanglin Road to Orchard Road, buses will still layover at CGA in addition to at Harbourfront

Pros: Connects Tanglin Road to Harbourfront, provides an alternative to 132 to Redhill, by converting 36 to bi-directional, I feel that this would help to improve Svc 36's as Svc 36 is prone to bunching in the CBD/Orchard area

Cons: I'm not sure if HBF have spaces for a new service for a short layover before contuning journey towards CGA

Possible future route amendment to service 40:

This would allow service 14 to be correspondingly amended as:

Overall, service 40 would ply about 22 km in both directions, while service 14 would be reduced from 33 to 27 km in either direction. By extension, 155's loop into Circuit Rd may be removed as well, given the effective transfers via 40 and 154/150 to either side, thus improving the reliability of three services in total.

Leave 60 alone as the feeder from Eunos to Bedok Reservoir. I would rather amend 22 there (since it's already duplicating many services) and extend 228 to loop there.

Assuming that nobody from Pasir Ris will take 5 to city because it's too winding. Only drawback I can see is that the private estates along Upp Changi Rd East will lose their direct service to the city.

Tampines town route modifications:

Service 18:

Comments:

- Retains connection between Tampines Ave 7 and Bedok, albeit in the reverse direction and with a slightly more winding route. Duplication with 21 is minimized.

- Removes duplicative section with 28 from Tampines Ave 2 - Bedok. Tampines Ave 2 residents can still commute via 28 to Bedok, 8 to Tampines Ave 7, or 20 to Tampines Central. Commuters at Blk 401/502 bus stops can still travel to Bedok via 168.

- Provides link from Tampines West MRT station to Tampines St 11 (return route is provided by amended 292)

- Provides two-way link to Tampines East MRT station to residents of Tampines Ave 9 and Sts 42, 43, 44, 45 (suppose 28, 29, 293 are not rerouted; they may have to be retained for connection to Tampines North Pr Sch & Tampines St 41).

- May require a significant fleet boost / transfer from 28 and 293.

Service 292:

- Link between Tampines East MRT station and Tampines St 32/33 may still need to be patched. This may be done by rerouting 291 to skip St 23 (for which there will need to be a replacement service).

So 134 not ending with 4?LTA is not as conservative as SBST la,Who would think that Tampines got svc 4 also and its also have double deckers too.Stop being like a fortune teller and get on with relevant topic la friend.
