don't keep an atm card. Just draw out all the money you need for
the week/month directly from the bank. In this way, you'll be less
inclined to spend to save you the hassle of going all the way
there.
the money that you draw out, remember to keep a certain proportion
as savings. say ten or twenty percent. whatever.
If you are one who likes to take risks, or who has the mental
equipment and the know-how, you might want to invest in the stock
market. US market brings higher returns than the Singapore ones...
but they also require a comparatively high amount of risk. Or else,
you can get a good broker (ask someone to recommend you one) and
ask him to invest for you.
or else, if you prefer to be on the safe side, you can get a
financial planner to invest for you. With them, you can invest in
unit trusts, mutual funds or even bonds. The returns are lower
though.
the easiest way is to save your money in a bank. Doesn't appeal to
me though, as the returns you are getting can't beat the inflation
rate.
they are so many areas of investment. Just find your niche or what
you are comfortable with and just go for it.
