Put it this way : he'd say anything that pleases you to attain whatever objective(most of which have already been mentioned by others) he has in mind. It's fair to say he views you as nothing more than another challenge in his neverending pursuit of fun(whatever his definition of that might be). Putting it bluntly, don't believe everything such guys say at face value. Afterall, when some things seem too good to be true, they most probably are.
