Tampines Ave 1 -- 23 (-18/5) a shocking 18 pax alighted at SAFRA. Please note you have sv 8 in parallel till here from Tampines Interchange.

Bedok Reservoir Rd -- 22 (-1/0), 24 (-4/6)

Bedok North Ave 3 -- 24 (-4/4), express

* Ofcourse there are people on board sv 18 - it passes through two of the busiest towns Tampines and Bedok, but just 20+ pax during peak hours is justified? Let's consider we stop sv 18, what would these pax do? They will take DD on sv 8 or 38 to Tampines CC or take 28/59 to SAFRA (huge number of pax unloading here).

* If this service is routed via Tampines Ave 9, would it not benefit more people and ease the crowd on sv 28/29 that are overly crowded?

Weekend loading on sv 115 (SBS6350B) from Hougang St 21 FC @17.30pm, Sat, 19 July

- As the bus turned to Hougang Ave 3 it bunched with two sv 51 buses, so I guess some people along Hougang Ave 3 who want to go to any MRT station (being it Kovan or Hougang) may have taken 51 instead of 115 behind, resulting in no pax boarding 115. Last time when I joyrided 115 on weekends (before fleet addition) there was significant loading along Hougang Ave 3 and Upp Serangoon Rd, and at least 20 pax were onboard before Kovan Station. (I'm not sure if my hypothesis is correct as I'm not familiar with this area)

- Later at 18.15pm I saw the same bus at Kovan Stn when I was waiting for sv 119. 4 pax alighted while about 2 continued their journey to Hougang St 21. Later at 18.29pm I saw sv 115 again at Upp Serangoon Rd with at least 10 pax onboard.

* Despite of sv 25 being just one signal ahead, the bus had 70+ loading once it hit HG Ave 3. Consistent 60+ loading on most part of the route. No wonder sv 55 is one of the top 10 services to have maximum SD --> DD conversion.

* Significant loading between Bishan and AMK towns as well as AMK and HG towns

* Loading drops only after Eunos MRT towards Siglap

* Peak loading = 79 pax

I have tried to catch 139 DD but been very difficult. 139A DD okay?

* Very interesting observations on sv 851 - one of the rare services that has heavy loading/unloading on so many stops. Took significant time being a SD at many stops to facilitate unloading first and then boarding

* Loading was poor until sv hit Marymount rd after which loading picked up. Interesting observation was few people alighting at Little India but a huge volume alighting at Bugis

* Loading maintained in higher 50s in Marymount, Thomson, Little India, falls in North Bridge stretch but again picks up at Chinatown/Outram/Tiong Bahru

* Have to be objective to say that SDs are okay in direction 1 during PM peak, but should be full DD fleet in direction 1 during AM peak looking at the loading. In other words, peak direction between 07.15 and 08.45 should have all DDs deployed from Yishun and all SDs deployed from Bukit Merah, since journey time is 1.5 hours

Today morning the 115 Citaro got at least 20 pax inside..while the Volvo probably around 15 pax 4 mins behind it..think timing need to revised 1A/P & 1 S operating hours should be from 0545-2315..The split should operate from 0615-1015,1645-2045

Interesting Observations:

* average loading around 30-35 pax between TPY and AMK towns

* loading picks up mainly at Serangoon North. To me it seems like major part of loading from ITE, AMK ave 5 is now shared by enhanced frequency on 88 HG bound and 50 Sengkang bound. Guess Sv 50 is faster to SGK than Sv 159

* peak loading did not cross 57 pax. I think BSEP add and more adds on other services have shared the load. Hence, not much banter for DDs on 159 anymore

* personally I observed this fall of loading on 159 and so wanted to check it out. Also, as per iris, bus ahead had a lead time of 09 minutes and bus behind was in 06 mins when I checked at AMK ave 5. Seems frequency in peak direction is super enhanced as well.

Simei St 1 -- 70 (-6/7) bus packed to door, people had to push to get in. This is problem with Citaro... once it reaches 68-70 pax... it is full... even if official capacity states lot more, 67 (-11/8), 67 (-6/6)

Simei St 3 -- 71 (-11/15) Simei MRT - clearly many pax could not board. I think around 8-9 pax wanted to take the bus and could not

Simei St 4 -- 69 (-2/0) BC did not open the door... 6 pax on the stop could not board, 72 (-2/5) BC opened door this time and all 5 pax squeezed in

Simei Road -- 73 (-4/5) I alighted here... 1 man left behind... others pushed themselves in, including aunties

* Loading/unloading on Citaro is extremely slow once it reaches 65/70 pax. Did the university professor take this into consideration? Believe when loads get high, DDs/bendies unload/load faster. DDs reach its bottle neck when # pax goes beyond 100 pax which is rare these days given BSEP

* So many people were not able to board, especially during peak time of 08-30 to go to work with all office people smartly dressed. Does this mean sv 20 might get more DD additions in the coming months? Considering the loading, I think I will not be surprised if 2 more SD slots are converted to DD in the next BSEP wave.

* Lead time with bus ahead was 15 minutes, bus behind was in 11 minutes when I checked at Simei Rd.

Yes - it is. Loading is all for CBP. Hence, you will see the heavy loading Mon-Fri AM peak towards CBP and PM peak from CBP. Just like JIS - the only difference here is off peak on weekdays is not bad - bus will still get 25-30 pax between Simei & Tampines towns. Yes 4 DDs is all it needs.
