How to overcome 'barrier'?

I have a friend who is now studying 2nd year in a polytechnic and he is the only guy in his class.

When he just entered the poly, his classmates have been spreading rumours of him with a girl classmates in his class and in the end he needs to find his lecturer to help and cool down his rumours. However during that time he had no feelings towards that girl.

However, when time goes he started to have feelings towards that girl (that was what my friend toldme) and also at the same time he had fallen out with 3 to 4 of his classmates, saying that he had been backstabbed by them when doing group projects.

Don't know whether he is 'zhi zhuo duo qing' or not but he told me that sometimes the way the girl looks at him makes him feels that the girl might be interested with him. He is interested with that girl too and I told him to go for her but he told me that there are some 'barriers' towards it.

1) Last time the rumours might make things difficuit for him.

2) Those classmates hostile to my friend might be making things difficuit for him too.

So how to overcome this 'barrier' as it is the first time that my friend had been having a feeling towards a girl and as a friend obviously I would like to see him succeed.

The people around him are childish enough to spread such rumours. In the first place, your friend is there to study, so why is he bothered enough to get a lecturer to solve such a trivial matter?

Such things are usually settled without the help of a lecturer, if a lecturer has to be called in, it's usually a serious case.

There must be reasons why his classmates are hostile towards him. Everything happens for a reason,

1. Go for the girl, and hope for the best.

2. To heck with those childish idiotic rumour-mongers. Even if they have genuine grievances toward your friend, spreading unfounded rumours is cowardly, stupid, and insensitive.

Firstly, he is the oldest in the class as I knew him from NS when a year ago. He was actually from JC but his results can't get him to local U so he came to poly and study and that makes him 2-4 years older than her female classmates. My friend is 22 this year but most of his classmates are around the age of 18.

And yes. Something might be wrong with my friend as he had encountered many unhappy incidents when in NS but generally he is a nice guy who will not harm you.

As for how comes the lecturer entered the flame I am not so sure as I am also puzzled about it since I am from poly last time.

And I can sense the childish elements of those girls when my friend talked to me regarding this

He told me that he will dare to take action (which I advised him to) but because of the barrier he is still hesitating.

I told him: If you have tried your best but she rejected you. There's nothing to be regreted because you know that you have tried your best but if you never tried you will never know whether you will succeed and you will regret in the future.

things will b easier if the girl rejected him straightaway but

these days some girls seems to like to "play" guys (male friends also kena; thats y not all guys are shameless also ) , they like guys

to do things for them so they meddle with their feelings ...sigh..then in the end

the guy suffer n the girl may not even put any actual emotional into the relationship

Now my friend have given up hope on her already. At least that's what he told me. Maybe it's fate?

He knows that the girl that she likes is a fan of Kwon Sang Woo and recently when Kwon Sang Woo have an activity at Espanlade (or Suntec) he purposely went there to look for her but he didn't saw her.

As it is now poly holiday and he has lots of free time, he often went to the Bedok area where the girl lives (my friend lives in the West side) to jalan jalan but he didn't saw her.

Then last week there's a World Food Fair in Expo (near to Bedok) and my friend wants to jio that girl out to the food fair. He called the girl:

My friend: Hello, XXX (name of the girl), are you free today? Want to go to the food fair in EXPO?

Girl: No...... Today I am going out with other friends.

My friend: How about tomorrow or the day after tomorrow?

Girl: No..... I am going out with my friends everyday.

From the girl's responses more or less he got the idea already. But at least he did try.
