Latest updates on the bus: Wheelchair-ramp has been removed, hence a gap can be seen below the rear door. A grabpole is also installed in place at the middle like on the front door. It is also wrapped in a full advert wrap (inclusive of the front) with an advert design similar to the Sunlong hybrids.

Also the bus is 11.4m long, not 12m.

It has a Volvo D5F215 diesel engine, which produces 161 kW (215 PS) and 800 Nm, as well as an electric motor that produces 120 kW (160 PS) and 800 Nm. When bother motors are working together driving the rear axle, that's effectively up to 1600 Nm of torque combined, with at least 800 Nm from standstill (electric motors produce full torque on start). When you combine that with the 12-speed iShift gearbox with closely-stepped ratios, there's no reason to assume that the B5RH would be at all underpowered.

Correct me if my memory fails me, but why are almost all the routes specified for this bus to ply seem identical to those done by the Sunlongs last time..?

Are they trying to do a comparison of the data on identical routes to see whether China vs European hybrid which is better?

SBS8030L, SBS8033D, the Sunlong hybrids (SBS8000Z and SBS8001X) and this bus (SBS8002T) are/were under Soon Lee Bus Park (SLBP)... Seems likes it is the depot for the new demonstator buses (except the Volvo B9TL Wrights).

It's not so much about the depot but the routes. This bus serves almost identical routes to the Sunlongs last time..which IMO, might be their way of comparing the hybrid capabilities of the Volvo system vs the Sunlong system.

And anyway, I think you forgot 7888K. That's a Scania demo that's not under SLBP. Haha.

Yes, so before you come to a conclusion, please do your research.

If reliability of the Volvo parallel hybrid system was of any concern, Volvo wouldn't offer it as its sole flagship city bus offering in Europe.

To provide some context, the bus was sent to do what is equivalent of Transperth's route 920, with a full loading of passengers throughout the journey (filled up to the red no standing zone) during the peak of summer.
