I am puzzled by the decision to split the Clementi route group, for one. Also, four Jurong East routes weren't touched, as well as 61 and 852. I reckon it makes better sense for 105 and 852 to be managed from BUDEP, while all Clementi routes stay with the incumbent.

with respect to LYBP, 109 is better off managed by this depot instead of 136, as the amount of dead running may be less.

Bus Stopping SG

I would suppose that this distribution of routes would go in line with the routes group?

So in the case of 105, that would belong to Serangoon and 852 with Yishun.

52 is full SLBP so it should be part of Jurong East route group. 51 and 197 are majority HGDEP and BNDEP respectively, so they may be better off with the Hougang and Bedok route groups.

I suspect 61 may be getting farmed out along with the Eunos routes. Either that or it's getting split up.

My guess is that Seletar will consist of AMK Depot, YCK and Yishun (Minus 39, 85, 103 and 856). Total around 24 svc and still can add 1 svc under BSEP. Yishun trunks might gain a lot of DDs, but their feeders might lose their bendies.

very likely.... while Bishan/TPY/st michael will go under another package... i think with the opening of the new Tuas depot, they might rebuilt Bishan MRT depot into multi storey depot with bus depot facilities...

the main thread is for general discussions, including possible locations of future bus parks. This one is for detailed examination of each individual route that had been tendered out recently. I have placed 96 and the CLE feeders from BU and 136 from LY under the microscope.

When the Bt Batok feeders are taken over by Tower Transit, will there be any possibility that they will be renumbered into the 34x or 36x series for conformity?

The 94x series can well be reserved for new trunk routes from Bt Panjang / Choa Chu Kang. It will be rather strange to have TT routes right in the middle of predominantly SMRT services. Same goes for 990 as well.

If renumbered, 990 into 390 is rather inappropriate, seeing that the 39x series can be used for another set of feeders. 340 is okay, as the service is a short inter-town. Otherwise any new number from the 4xx series will do; even 1 (consider 3) or 71 (following the trend of 41, 51, 61) can be considered candidates.

Overall, the downside to GCM is that routes will become less flexible and more difficult to adjust/amend accordingly with MRT opening and rationalisation. For example, when TEL opens, we may end up seeing a lot of semi-empty buses at MP that wouldn't get rationalised or diverted.

Bulim GCM Package - 66, 143, 106...

Some people in this forum ever raised their concern with Bedok Bus Interchange being too far away from the Bulim depot.

actually, if Tower Transit uses the Pan-Island Expressway, Bedok Bus Interchange is only around 30 minutes away from Bulim Depot.

no doubt the distance is quite far, at around 30km... but, at least Bedok Bus Interchange is only around 30 minutes from Bulim Depot, if use expressway.

besides 66 going to Bedok Interchange, there's 143 going to Toa Payoh Interchange and 106 going to Marina Centre Terminal.

Toa Payoh Interchange is around 20 minutes away (around 20km) from Bulim Depot, via PIE expressway. Marina Centre Terminal is around 27 minutes away (around 24 km) from Bulim Depot, via AYE expressway.

Meanwhile, Bulim Depot to Clementi Interchange takes around 14 minutes; Bulim Depot to Jurong East Interchange takes around 10 minutes; Bulim Depot to Bukit Batok Interchange takes around 11 minutes.

so, it works out to be about the same. Toa Payoh Interchange, Marina Centre Terminal and Bedok Interchange is only ten to twenty minutes further away from Bulim Depot.

I guess the first/last bus timings of Bulim GCM bus services at Toa Payoh, Marina Centre and Bedok will be adjusted to accomodate the longer travel time from Bulim Depot to the respective bus interchanges and terminal.

For example, 66 can have first bus twenty minutes later and have last bus twenty minutes earlier, than an average trunk bus service; first bus at 0600hrs and last bus at 2230hrs, so that buses on 66 can go from Bulim Depot to Bedok Interchange at the same time as the other buses, and come back at the same time. Anyway, not many people go out before 6am, or end work/school after 10pm, so I do not think there's much of a problem.
