How would you cope with unappreciative friends?

Hmm…lets say you have a close friend whom you have been helping regularly. One day you discover that all this while, he isnt really appreciative of what you have been doing. You did voice out your unhappiness over this to him, but he doesnt seem to take it seriously. What would you do then?

I love my friends. I carry on whether they appreciative or not. I not gonna change my ways just because a few in my circle dun appreciate. Smile

I am only human, of coz it hurts. But my love for them prevails over petty differences and self centered-ness. You can say I talk big, but I do not like being selfish and expect anything from my friends.

Imagine dis, if you give to dem (anything) EXPECTING to receive smth back from dem... Dun you tink you will only focus on those ppl who can do dat? Wat about those who dun? R you goin to ignore dem? Dats not how friendship works loh.

hmm i will still help... but not too often...mb help only if he ask cuz he is really in need. or else i may not help him often so dat he wun be dependant on u and eventually not realising ur effort... Very Happy

ya x 2...but maybe his friend is just feeling dependant on him...thinking he will be there to help him whenever in need thus not appreciating it...

of course when you help your friends you dont expect anything in return, but at least some form of recognition or a "thank you" would suffice. But when none of that happens, how?

I know. Sometimes its hard... which is why we also have to be tactful when we offer our help. We can lend a listening ear, or do smth for them BUT also tell them along the way on how they have to do it on their own if we as the helpers may not be available all the times.

We do our best in helping them within our limited capabilities. If they take for granted, I can't change their minds just like that. They will one day know about what we did and leanr to be appreciative. That is why I don't give up no matter how lon git takes.
