what many people take here... models, actors, etc.. is an oral
drug called isotretinoin.. which cotains vitamin A. They take it
for about 4~6 months. It is believed that isotretinoin works
primarily by reducing the secretion of oils from the glands,
however some studies suggest that it affect other acne-related
factors as well. Isotretinoin has been shown to be very effective
in treating severe acne and can either improve or clear well over
80% of patients.
Be careful though, your doctor probably won't let you on it before
you try milder creams and medicines, 25% of people suffer
side-effects of this drug: dry skin, nose bleeds, headaches. But
they can all be cured by creams, etc. Like I said, 80% you'll get
rid of your acne for good.
Also if you are going to pop them, there is a way to do it.
Basiaclly only get the ones with "heads" that infected white stuff
on the top. Make sure you don't dig your nails into your skin, as
this can scar. I'm assuming you just have facial acne? Maybe this
will pass after you've gone through puberty (I'm guessing your age
here, sorry), but you should consult members of your family and ask
them if they still suffer from acne.
My best advice is to go and see your GP, and then furtherly more,
go and see a deratologist (sp), which should (does in this country
anyway), prescribe you the most suitable oral medicine and cream
for free.
