lem0nade SG A few days ago my gf of 2 mths suggested to me bout opening a joint bank account. She said we should start saving for our future. I was stunned and quickly brushed away the idea by saying we’re still young. We’re both 22 btw. She’s a final year undergrad while I just started my first year. Am I wrong to reject her idea? Wat are the implications involved?
coffeeortea SG wow i have to admit on an average.. 2 mths is a really short time.. but think about this.. is the girl you are with now going to be the one you will stay with, love, cherish for the rest of your life.
Pitot SG hahaha... nxt time if u marry her.. hoho! Anyway, its no right or wrong for me la.. start saving for future, how will you know if she spends all the money..
Aveme SG haha have you proceed to have sex with her already? if so,then confirmed she will try to be more possesive and rush into stuff mah
lem0nade SG Nope.. we haven sex yet. Is she trying to tie me down? I mean right now we’re still in honeymoon period and she like so fast wanna get down into serious stuff le.
monoslayer SG to b frank, 2 mths is beri beri short.. i guess she is really serious abt tis relationship n wan some security from u.
lem0nade SG Hmm.. basically I knew her since primary school and it was only recently that we got together. I know her quite well and she's no spendthrift. So I'm not afraid of her withdrawing faster than I can put in... In fact it's more of the reverse! Since she'll be working once she graduate next year while I'm still in uni, she'll have a regular income unlike me. Won't I stand to gain more as she'll be contributing a greater share?
beavan SG dun rush too much. imagine IF (i’m not cursing u or anything) u guys break up. how are the 2 of u going to split the cash?
Cool-gal SG i think she is very serious abt this r/s. r u serious with her?? if not, then dun.. alot of implications..
PhilGoodNurse SG Trust me. You have to watch out. But on other hand, she may be over eager to settle down and needs you to put in a 'deposit' first for her emotional security sake. If you love her reassure her you will accept her whatever the consequence whatever the situation But there is no need for joint account. Just go on cheap dates a.k.a saving for future.
CannyOng SG Maybe she steps into the real world and see many things and things will start to change.... Be careful wo! As what many people say,2 months is a short time!
