if say i progress from ite to poly
would i stand any chance of getting into uni?
coz i saw on nus/ntu sites that they take into consideration o'levels results too... but does it play a big part? what if say i do well for my poly?
i'm from o'levels but i only have like 2 credits then i went on to ite's higher nitec...
well hoping to venture into aerospace subsequently branching out from mech eng..
does cca in poly like play a big part as well?
and does local unis like ntu nus accept SAT test results for admissions? in stead of having to take o's

charlize SG

Save up money and go apply to overseas universities.

There is a higher chance of them accepting you than the local unis. Laughing

tt3 SG

finish ur poly 1st la…

alexkusu SG

take into consideration = fat chance

nanren4ever SG

Nope, NUS/NTU no longer need SAT results for admission, but SMU still does. And of course, as long as u get Good grades in ur Poly life, u can go to Uni. So what even if u started off from ITE?

I always believe in this line: Doesn't matter how long u get to the finish line, as long as u get to it.

elspeth SG

u mean distance learning from those private sch?

elspeth SG

eh now still in ite haha

elspeth SG

but i old liao leh 22 now in ite coz i go back 2nd time...
long story la anyway...
i scared next time too old after grad from poly if i enter poly hmm...
then must start real work liao
uni got any age limit anot ah
btw i tot can use SAT for nus /ntu? you mean even if take the SAT and show to them during admission no use? won't help with chances at all?

mistyblue SG

then you think so far?

Just put it this way, anything is possible. If local Universities don'ta take you, you are still free (even better) to take up overseas long distance learning.

If you "kut Lat" (work hard lah), anything is possible

mistyblue SG

the entry policy change. So now is SAT, by the time you are ready to go in, it might be scrapped. But you have a choice, some overseas universities do not require SAT.

elspeth SG

nus ntu no need SAT
what i meant is can i like use SAT to increase chances of entry
will they take in to consideration

borgkilla SG

try and apply overseas better chances

angrynor SG

yes, you always have the chance to get in.

I know of a friend that went through this route.

Btw, one of my lecturer was from ITE. Smile

browniebaobao SG

ite -> poly -> local uni IS POSSIBLE!
