Frankly speaking i prefer to take SDs, i dun mind taking KUBs
too on 161 as long i feel that my ride along the expressway is
fast. I feel that the wrights are crawling on SLE/TPE. It seems
that the gear seems to be locked at 55km/h? In the past 161's last
bus used to be a B10M strider and some damn suay pax will be left
stranded now thankfully 161 weekday fleet fully DD.
Abit OT, but as far as I know, it's very hard to find any of the
new buses that will go beyond the 60kmh limit because the speed
limiter + ECU will cut in much more on the newer buses compared to
the older ones. (somehow can say that the 'computer' on the newer
buses are smarter uh)
User a GPS speedometer and you'll see the difference when you take
a Citaro / KUB vs the Mk4s. In fact, there's a quite a number of
Mk4s with the speed limiter broken somehow.
I take one such bus everyday in the morning and the average speed
for 5 weekdays along TPE / SLE stretch usually is about 77kmh from
the GPS.
