254/255/257 loads can easily cross 100 pax.. Why no BSEP yet or even fleet add from SBST side... Totally ignore the JIS area.

Since you are an advocate for SMRT.

Explain:

1. Why 187 has so many A22s added when Sd-->DD would have done the job keeping the fleet at 25/26 buses instead of 31? And then you cry about shortage of BCs.

2. Explain why 854 still has so many rigids, when its counterpart 25 for most part of its route is almost full fleet DD?

3. Explain why service levels on Yishun/Woodlands feeders/intra towns is so poor with so many rigids stormed on 811, 911 when HC buses would do the job with lesser fleet.

You know there is a big list that I can go on... It is only because of LTA/BSEP that you saw services like 61, 961, 985 get more HC buses.

Like you mentioned HC buses would do the job with lesser fleet...how come ppl still complain that SMRT downgraded slots when DD are added?

Yes although 911 have more SDs spammed, it does a pretty much decent job in having much regular frequency. When you deploy more HC buses, what's the point when the frequency is also crap?

You want one more example: How 969 is managed v/s 168, 118

Another one: How 965 is managed v/s 85, 161 or newly introduced 117.

You want yet another one: How 851, 167, 980 are managed in Upper Thomson/Marymount area.

And HENCE, how often does 965/969 delay compared to 39/85/117?

Strictly speaking 117 aint even SBST man... Given SBST I doubt DDs will even exist.

Hmm maybe that's the reason why they stop at 16 A95s?? Maybe for now?

But maybe perhaps LTA should take more SDs from SMRT side, more DDs from SBST side for TT/Go-Ahead instead? At least giving it a balance fleet...

I checked, trying to follow, haven't been monitoring this thread for a long time, then I come in and trying to filter out the SBS vs SMRT discussions.

What I mean is I can't recall any official information from LTA about any preferred models of buses, aside from the concept bus tender.

Well, basically it's about SMRT the deployment of HC buses...

So I mentioned about 951E once have a ownself fleet add without LTA release of the 7th buses in 951E, which is a DD. But the reply gotten was somewhat unclear to me. And thus the "2 DDs 4 SDs" thingy come about. It's the original 6 timeslot announced by LTA, and there's 2 DD and 4 SD used.

So nothing about the models.

Personally, I believe different operators have different way of deploying.

But I see no harm in deploying full fleet SDs on the first day, and improving from there on. At least you act accordingly.

Take a look at 102, still poor demand I guess? Some even mentioned of waste of resources. Now, there's so many "fortune teller" here eh? So fast assumed that 117 would need FULL FLEET DDs by 2017. Yes I know the Aviation industry is expanding, but still, you can't assume things so early.

And YES SMRT might have ordered too many A22s, but I believe they would be in good use when there's train disruptions? So what if they spam more SDs rather than putting HC buses? It's creating more job opportunities, MORE RELAX Timing for drivers, LESSER chance of being late.

If you wish for a world class transportation, you not only need to have good(maintained) buses, but happy drivers. Not a situation where they are always rushing to meet schedules. Also, interchanges and depot should have more land space.

r u stupid o wat. i live in tamp. and i live along route of 39. u compare 969 and 39. do u even kno the dd on 39 not get use well. 969 got so much demand yet got so many rigid ply. i agree with some 969 shud be full fleet dd. and where 965 got 5-8 min freq. u dream o wat.

Nature of bus enthusiasts... Strangely many of them love SMRT much more than SBST.

Just like how many can spam so many posts about the bendy special departure on 979 on its first day, or about the O405G on 979 today. Even saying SMRT's BSEP services never get boring... Trying to cover up the fact that 979 has majority rigid fleet?

On the contrary, 118 is full fleet DD since its 1st day and nobody cares.

Similarly, some people are too personal about other people talking about good things about SMRT, and would call the people who support SMRT as SMRT staff, I mean look at the previous pages. If it was a comment about SBS, no comments would had been made.

yes i read all. for me my experience is in east region. and i feel smrt not do good job with 61-67-854-969. don wan argue coz in ur region smrt might do better job than mine.

All are long distance routes, and long distance routes are prone to enroute conditions. I mean in the East, even 23 and 65 faces the same issues of late arrival and bunching, maybe it doesn't affect you or maybe the sector you take has alternatives.

Totally not sure who's the one using harsh words now...

But yeah, Even 168 has its share of delays. Why not you try waiting for it at Tampines MRT? It comes off schedule more often than 969.

Okay sure, 969 may lose out in terms of HC buses. But at least it's showing signs of improvement! There are less rigids now than before.

And how you know 965 dont get 5-8 min? Ok maybe to clarify, it's during peak la. But 85 is far far from this! So is 117.
