I would just say some people are very anti-bendy and are
obsessed with DDs and this prevents them from seeing things in the
right light. If you are the one so enthusiastic to go to upper deck
to burn those extra calories, come I clap for you. Cos I really
hate situations where lower deck no space to board and upper deck
so much space. But like it or not, unfortunately, in our Singapore
scene, people are lazy and we are an ageing population. This
probably can never be changed, in the case of short routes. Plus
also imagine how much extra dwell time a DD will take on a feeder
vs a bendy bus. It can already be seen in SBST feeders ad this
causes extreme bunching.
Bulim will probably not get any bendy Anw cos of that package
only 189 and 106 have bendys. These 2 will probably convert to DD
since 106 is town service NS 189 is a trunk service.
If LTA is so anti against bendys, there wouldn't have been a
case where you see a new batch of A24s. It would be like London
same as someone who are anti-bendies as well.. even can specify
a situation whereby he saw 39 empty seats on upper deck of a Sv190
DD, which was packed at the lower deck...
bendies dun have dwell time? looking at the congestion it cause
at interchange and bus stops? lots of bendies bunching on
911/912/913/903 as well and it also require more parking space in
interchange/depots...
and that 40 new A22, is most likely replacement of those 40
deregistered box bendies.. most likely SMRT ask for extension of
lifespan of these box bendies but does not get any approval, thus,
SMRT counterpropose to get new 40 A22 to replace these box bendies
instead but guess LTA also force SMRT to get DDs as well as one of
the condition..
