During that era.. also depends whether the loading of those
services justified... even today SDs can do good job for CGA.. most
leave CGA with few seats to spare... it is along the route that the
loading steps up.
27 is Tampines to Sengkang, 34 is Tampines to Punggol, 36 is
Marine Parade to Suntec, 53 is Pasir Ris to Serangoon..
If supplementary routes were introduced for these services,
already issue can be resolved... which in itself is done well by
SWTs and downroutes just that SBST has refused to use DDs for the
SWTs for some reason.
Untrue.
2 in 5 svc 34 skips stops outside SATS kitchen, packed to door
during PM peak, leaving a huge bulk of transfer pax stranded for
another bus with uncertain arrival times (happens to all CGA routes
due to long routing)
While only 3-7 pax could board any 53/858 that happens to stop
by, out of the usual dozen over.
Even after 8pm, most buses are still fully seated and
half-filled with standees, not leaving with seats to
spare.
Fleet add doesnt help much either. Often they just bunch up, and
the same shit happens again.
If bendies ARE able to enter the terminal without causing too
much delay, I hope they be used at least for the next few years,
until jewel finishes and hopefully we can see DDs into
CGA.
I know this as i always change between 858 and 24 there.
