just when i thought i was getting better, with a thicker,
longer, fuller set of hair, i had to step into the salon with a
false sense of confidence, and emerged with a shabby frizzy hairdo
only to gain further sympathy from my best friend in the style of
mad shrieking laughter the moment she saw me. to make things worse
my best guy friend sent me home tonight, i havent seen him for so
long because i always felt my ugliness would make him think little
of me, but tonight i risked a chance, and he broke to me the news
via sms the moment we said bye that he just got attached, and that
he didnt know how to break it to me earlier on.
most people think im very confident on the outside so they can tell
me the ugly truth plainly and bluntly, but at night and at home and
in fact in the dusty corners of my soul most of the time i feel
broken and shaken by the honesty of their words.
this morning i left a pretty person but came home feeling ugly
inside out. its really not just about the hair.
most of the time i wish people could lie to me more often, and tell
me how beautiful i am.
