Caught in a mix with friendships. (Help?!)

Yeah... We shouldn't really belittle the teens' problems all the time... At their age, they can be quite emotionally vulnerable... And it certainly doesn't help when most of their friends could also at a relatively immature stage, and talking to adults about such things are deem as waste of time on trivial matters... As we can see EVEN FROM ADULTS... Some people can really take things quite personally...

Sometimes we should attempt to teach them to walk out of it rather than brushing their matters off as nothing most of the time...

anyways. easiest out, not the most "correct" one is to choose one side and stick with it. so if u wanna friend amanda, dun friend anyone who is against her. keep it simple, den u dun think about wad other people feel. your peers are so selfish anyways. screw em to hell. you really dun have to force urself to be "holy" or the most correct person on earth, but dun be the worse either.

What I would do if I'm in your shoes... (Which I think is really what I did?)

If I really care to befriend with one, I won't care about how others might be stopping me from it...

I would choose to befriend BOTH of them.. And I'll ask BOTH of them to RESPECT MY FREEDOM and DECISION. Any party which tries to stop me (unless there's hidden reason to save me from hurt) or might even threaten to discard the friendship because of my decision WOULD be FREE to GO...

I've been teased and bullied before too because of my decision... But since long I've never wanted to live for the sake of others, nor live under the shadows of hypocrites... People can push me over, but it just helps to make me tougher and get to see people clearer... After a while a new group of friends would emerge... So don't you worry too much about it...? Smile Besides... You're going to a new secondary school next year... So why worry so much? Wink

Maybe u can seek ur older siblings or parents for assistance.
Anyway friendship at ur age is a big problem.
Becoz around that age most of us tends to be immatured,
therefore we have cases of friend or dont want friend or act to be friend
and so on... My advice to you is to stay out of this friend or no friend thing
with ur best effort or try to find a solution as fast as possible and
concentrate on ur studies. Thats the only thing that will help u more in future.
Ur friends here and there cant guarantee ur future or a place in university.

Hi.. Smile to make u feel a bit better.. i just recently had to handle something like this.. and with a group of mid 20s too....

Just think about it, girl.. you may be young now but think about what sort of decision you will make to be the type of person you want to remember yourself to be? Because in 5 yrs time, you look back, and you know what sort of person you are and if you liked yourself back then (which is now, of course)

Sometimes, it is ok to refuse to make a decision if you know that all the choices given are silly! Seems like you know the value of friendship more than those who take it lightly - so don't change who you are. Even if you lose this group of friends now, at least you know you didn't 'betray' your own principles, which will last you in life far longer than any group of friends.

I want them to know that I need my freedom.
I want them to respect my decisons.

But it is near impossible, for the fact that all the girls excluding me argue and sometimes, when I am talking to..lets say, Yuan Ying. She will say "I don't like Jodi leh..so childish but so big also..." and then everyone else there will like agree. Coz' she IS kinda popular..
And also, I worry. Coz' IF I friend someone else, they will spread rumours that is so totally NOT true, something like slander, and spread it everywhere in the whole school. It happened before, and I swear, I was like the only person there comforting her and telling her that those people are sh!ts. Wink

Oh, and no age limit? Ok, I stay. Until I am about 1048636583220275 years old then maybe I quit. Very Happy

I know what I want to be and what I want my image to be or what my whole appearance projects.
Nowadays, people, especially teens, take everything for granted. Why can't they take it seriously and BE serious about it?
Everything is either "I don't friend you anymore, b!tch!" or "Bye bye, ex-friend!" which I simply HATE.

By being with the popular group doesn't guarantee that these friends/people will be with u 5-10 years down the road, the same applies to being with the outcast group. Some of them might even lost contact with u 5-10 years later.

If u want to be friends with both groups, just strike a balance. Say for example, fuss with the popular group while study with the nerdy group. If the popular group ask u why u are with the nerdy group, just say u gals dun want to study with u wat, etc

Anyway, u are going 2b Sec 1 next year, most probably u won't b seeing this bunch of friends, so why trouble urself over such issues, better concentrate on getting good grades for PSLE

And I found out something.
My two popular side friends, Yuan Ying and Ashley, doesn't have STUDIES!! in their minds.
Yesterday, and it is the CA1 week, they asked me, "Wanna go shopping with us?" and omg, it was the CA1 week!! And they dun wanna study and ace the exam?
Well yea. I just said, "Um. NO. I need to study...don't you need to do? It's MATHS exams tomorrow leh, gonna be HARD! What if you fail? Might repeat P6 you know!"
