Quit Job B4 finding another job?

I may sound silly, but after finding out that most potential employers won't wait a WHOLE month for me, i felt stuck... miss a lot of opportunities like that

But then, if i quit now w/o finding another job first, i will be listed as UNEMPLOYED and my market value/ bargaining power will go down... i dread the days when i was unemployed for months...

But then again, i am EXTREMELY sick of my current company Evil or Very Mad ... should i carry on staying and wait hopelessly for a job that will still be waiting for me in 1 month, or take a risk?

For me, i've been working 1yr+ with my previous employer and left the job last year Oct. Before i quit, i did talk to my parents abt it and they are ok with it. They allow me to quit without finding another job, took those few months as a break. Wink I'll be starting my new job on 1 March.

If your family have no problem with you quitting this job, then quit. Go to job agency find a temp job for few months, when its abt to end find a permanment job. Normally temp job can convert to permanment. Wink

just say that ur current job requires a lot of time from u and u always can't get leave for interviews lor. dun think ur market value will drop if it's just for a short period. Anyway i think a lot of employers are willing to wait one mth leh, that's how most people find job also mah

like you.. i am also totally sick of my current company...
boss super stingy. he himself drive big car, stay bungalow, eat at posh resturants, fly business class...
and tell me the company not making money.. cannot pay me much, cannot pay bonus, cannot pay me commission.. basket...

but i still got to stick with this job until i find another one.. at least every mth got a bit coming in... Sad

well.. i think most employers dun mind wait one mth.. and if u have your annual leave.. probably can shorten the notice period to even 2-3 weeks..

for me is that i find another job 1st la. cos i need the money i cant be out of job. but i heng. i on leave that day my fren call me ask me wan to work with him anot. i on him. but he told me next day start. den i tell him might not be able cos i duno have to give notice anot. i call my manager i tell him i am quitting he tell me ok. heng no need notice. den now i am in the new job. but after all if u need the money rite, try to look 1st and ask your future employer if they accept u after a mth anot lor

but guys u know. it is more easy to get a leave for interview !
although get the reply from new company also no time for interview somemore currently job is 5.5 days. sign... wht to do? only hv to quit current job and seach again.

Nope.. I found the job in a job site.. I submit my resume then they (the company not agency) HR manager contact me for interview. Wink

I am quiting my job this friday.. very frustrated. Everyday draging myself to work.. at night cannot sleep.. can't take it liao..

Hope I can find a job soon.. but now the IT market quite bad.. mostly contract jobs.. sian..

Like some of my potential future employer, they do understand that they have to wait for 1 mth if they want me. And another one even say no hurry cos he understand some new staff may wana go for holiday after 1 mth notice..which means he can wait even 1 mth +. Wink

better dun quit w/o a job. jobs are hard to find nowadays. ride cow find horse. sign on the dotted line (letter of appt) before you tender.
