IMHO 119 should just merge with 113 and 53M, loop at NEX, do
Hougang St 11 in both directions and use red/white plates... No
need for 53M at all
yes that was a suggestion made long time back... I think LTA
does not want to take the risk of taking 113 away... as some might
complain even though SBS/LTA deem it to be useless... given its
frequency.
113 also could have on its own been extended to loop at NEX..
but it still didn't do that bcoz they don't see the value of adding
more buses on 113.. especially for the Kovan - Hougang loop... To
think of it during 113A operating hours, 113 frequency between
Kovan and Hougang is +20 mins... and can get worse if one bus is
delayed... but still since it is only a secondary service... no one
complains.
Even from Kovan... you can see 113A buses departing with 35-40
pax during PM peak (of course there could be some time slots, when
the bus might get around 50-55 pax)
