Old post from half a month ago, but I've been thinking about this
issue for some time. Areas like Eunos and Bedok are quite easily
accessible via NSL/CCL/EWL while for Pasir Ris, SBW residents can
go to Yishun to take 39. Possible to x-fer bus at Pasir Ris to go
to Changi Village, which is already served by quite a number of bus
svcs.
However, bus transfers are required to access the industrial areas
at Upp Changi Rd North (2,4,5,37) and Changi Biz Park (20), where
there are large working crowds and mainly localised bus links to
nearby MRT stations only. Thus, a direct bus svc from SBW to these
areas in the east may be feasible.

-Provides industrial areas at Upp Changi Rd North and Changi
Business Park and upcoming SUTD with a direct bus connection to
Bedok South, Pasir Ris and Yishun/Sembawang
-Connects Bedok and Pasir Ris residents directly to the stretch of
army camps along Sembawang Rd (Nee Soon Camp, Sembawang Air Base,
Dieppe Barracks, Khatib Camp, Chong Pang Camp)
-Connects Wellington Circle, Montreal Dr/Link directly to shopping
options and amenities along Sembawang Rd. Also provides more bus
transfer options at Sembawang Rd.
-Provides a bus service for upcoming flats and condominiums along
Pasir Ris Dr 8, connecting them to Pasir Ris MRT/ White Sands
shopping centre
-Can be numbered 984 if operated by SMRT. Since SBST is so
superstitious to avoid regos with '4' in it, this svc probably
won't be called 44. If SBST operates it, may be numbered 47. (or
even 41 or 46)
I strongly suggest it to stop at Punggol Rd interchange instead
of Jalan Kayu as it is not piratical at all (Jln Kayu bus stop is
getting crowded) and it provides major improvement in connectivity
to the east from North-East area, especially Punggol. Moreover,
many students have to transfer numerous times to get to and from NE
and ITE College East.
Jalan Kayu is outdated alr, and NE residents deserve a svc to
the Upper Changi area.
