As per the suggestions for lesser feeder services for more short
haul trunk services, here are some suggestions (more to be topped
up later):
Clementi
Sv282: Amend to ply Clementi Ave 4 in both
directions
Sv284: Merge with Service 282
Clementi Int, (Clementi Ave 3), Clementi Ave 4, Clementi Ave 5,
Clementi Ave 2, Clementi West St 2, West Coast Rd, Clementi Ave 2,
Clementi Ave 5, Clementi Ave 4, (Clementi Ave 3), Clementi Int
Hougang
Sv115: Merge with Service 119
Sv119: Extended to loop at Hougang Ave 3
Punggol Temp Int, (Punggol Pl), Punggol Field, (Punggol Way),
Sengkang East Rd, Sengkang East Way, Rivervale Dr, Sengkang East
Ave, Punggol Rd, Hougang Ave 10, Hougang Ave 8, Upp Serangoon Rd,
Hougang St 21, Hougang Ave 1, (Lor Ah Soo), Hougang Ave 3, Upp
Serangoon Rd, Hougang Ave 8, Hougang Ave 10, Punggol Rd, Sengkang
East Ave, Rivervale Dr, Sengkang East Way, Sengkang East Rd,
(Punggol Way), Punggol Field, (Punggol Pl), Punggol Temp Int
Woodlands/Yishun
Currently the residential towns with the second most and most
number of feeders (6 in Yishun & 8 in Woodlands respectively).
Thus, some possible feeder integration between Yishun &
Woodlands can be done, as well as the amendment of some trunks to
ply the inner roads in Woodlands/Yishun
Sv803: Merge with Service 904 to form
sv861
Sv904: Merge with Service 803 to form sv861
New Sv861: Yishun to Woodlands (Loop)
Yishun Temp Int, (Yishun Central), Yishun Ave 9, Yishun Ring Rd,
Yishun St 31, Yishun Ave 6, Yishun Ave 7, Gambas Ave, Woodlands Ave
9, Woodlands Ave 6, (Woodlands Dr 60), Woodlands Cres, (Woodlands
Dr 72), Woodlands Dr 73, Woodlands Dr 62, Woodlands Ave 6,
Woodlands Ave 7, Woodlands Reg Int, Woodlands Ave 7, Woodlands Ave
6, Woodlands Dr 62, Woodlands Dr 73, (Woodlands Dr 72), Woodlands
Cres, (Woodlands Dr 60), Woodlands Ave 6, Woodlands Ave 9, Gambas
Ave, Yishun Ave 7, Yishun Ave 6, Yishun St 31, Yishun Ring Rd,
Yishun Ave 9, (Yishun Central), Yishun Temp Int.
** The integrated sv861 will provide an additional alternative
between Yishun and Yishun Industrial Park A apart from sv811 and
direct connections from Woodlands Reg Int/MRT & Admiralty MRT
stations to the industrial park, while retaining the original links
of sv803/sv904.
For Woodlands, 1 intra-town could be removed in place of a new
short trunk as it has the most (i.e. 3) integrated feeder services
(i.e. TownLinks/Intra-Towns) by far compared to Pasir Ris (2
TownLinks), Tampines (2 TownLinks), Bedok (1 TownLink), Ang Mo Kio
(2 TownLinks), Choa Chu Kang (1 Intratown) & Yishun (2
Intratowns).
In this case, sv911 may be the intra-town easiest to be
integrated into a short haul trunk, while sv912 & sv913 have
more complex routes that are more difficult to be replaced.
With Sembawang still having sufficient space for new routes, it
would be the most ideal to introduce a new route from there linking
to Woodlands Ctr Rd and replacing sv911.
New sv881: Sembawang to Woodlands Ctr Rd
(Loop)
Sv911: Withdrawn, replaced by sv881
Sembawang Int, (Sembawang Vista), Sembawang Dr, Sembawang Way,
Canberra Rd, Admiralty Dr, Sembawang Way, Woodlands Ave 7, Gambas
Ave, Woodlands Ave 9, Woodlands Ave 2, Woodlands St 81, Woodlands
St 82, Woodlands Ave 4, Woodlands St 83, Woodlands Ave 7,
Woodlands Reg Int, (Woodlands Ave 3), Woodlands St 13,
Woodlands Centre Rd, Woodlands St 13, (Woodlands Ave 3),
Woodlands Reg Int, Woodlands Ave 7, Woodlands St 83,
Woodlands Ave 4, Woodlands St 82, Woodlands St 81, Woodlands Ave 2,
Woodlands Ave 9, Gambas Ave, Woodlands Ave 7, Sembawang Way,
Admiralty Dr, Canberra Rd, Sembawang Way, Sembawang Dr, (Sembawang
Vista), Sembawang Int.
** The new sv881 will have an en-route stop in Woodlands Reg Int
in both directions to minimize the impact of the discontinuation of
sv911
** Supplements part of Admiralty Dr currently only served by
sv980 (on a full day basis) and a faster route to another segment
of Admiralty Dr currently only served by sv859/859A/859B
** Provides additional inter-town connections between Woodlands
and Sembawang apart from sv858/sv962
Hi mr SBS7557R, so what happens to the deep end of Clementi ave
4? Are you removing that sector or you are introducing a double
plated (white and green plate) Sbs 282? One direction is to go
towards Clementi ave 5 and the other is to go towards Clementi
interchange? Because judging by your route, those living near Blk
308 bus stop may have to travel the full route (one round) just to
reach Clementi interchange? A feeder service should not be like
that if you combine 2 together. Not just combine for the sake of
saving 1 service and end up inconveniencing a whole lot of
residents. Feeder service must directly bring residents to mrt!
Cheers.
