It may not help to solve whatever problem you have, but at least you have an outlet to vent your troubled mind into writing. That can help to lesser the burden.

Well, I'm not exactly troubled but I have been reading what people posted and have been trying to help out (or not) heh Confused ..... That's why I'm wondering if we, who reply to these posts, actually helped them in any way...

I was having this problem making a decision and I decided to post on this forum, but when I was typing out my problem, I realised that it probably wouldn't make a difference (at least to me), because I know what I SHOULD choose. The only thing I should decide is whether I want to choose what I SHOULD or what I WANT... And that's totally up to me.

And for people who ask questions like "should I dump him/her?", really, does it matter what people say? most of the time when you ask such questions, the story would be something like "he/she doesn't care anymore. He/she (insert negative actions) me, so I want to know if I should dump him/her." The fact that you know he/she isn't treating you well, you know that you SHOULD NOT be with him/her... but you are still with him/her, aren't you? Even if the whole sgforums friendly users asked you to break it off, you probably still wouldn't... because you probably can't. If you could, you'd probably have done it before you even asked.

I probably am not making sense... Just typing out whatever is in my head.. which sometimes I wish does not exist.. Rolling Eyes

i think there should be standard answers for the standard problems here. so repeated problems don’t get mentioned, and personnel involved in the problem don’t get renamed constantly to make it look like a new problem.

It does not actually solve my prob.... for example, aft a lengthy post abt my loneliness & lack of social life... 3 months later....... .... I am still ALONE most of the time Smile

But the process of consolidating my thoughts & pennin them down is quite therapeutic... calms my frentic mind as unhappy & repetitve thoughts keeps whirlin thru at nite sometimes

Also, e forum allows more ppl to offer a wide spectrum of advice/comments & thus giv me a fresh perspective to my probs..

Actually I would like to congras you on able to finally realising that is " up to you to choose" not us in AA to chose for you.

Many people could not even reach to your level of understanding the simple statement of "that's totally up to me."

I am glad that you have done what many people could not do just by understanding this statement helps you to finally find out that AA can only advise a person. We cannot help you make the decision for you. Is up to the person to decide what he or she wants to do and live with the result of his or her decision.
