striderz_o405 SG I have a wierd problem... I can jump well, but cannot run or do chin ups well... My running has dropped to a new low at the start of the year... 13:30 for 2.4km -> used to be at around 12:15 My chin ups also suffered quite a lot, from doing 4 until can only do 1.... how? Jumps are ok... at about 240cm... How to train other than running, doing pumpings?
Simple_Bear SG Taking all those proteins and stuff isnt gonna help if you dun train. For 2.4km, you need to train by running, distance run and power training which means run at fast speed. For pull - ups, the main muscles in use are your biceps and lats, U can try training those in the gym and there shld be a pull - up training machine in the gym, U can train your pull - ups there also. Good Luck to your training. Cheers.
zanza SG Pull ups must be practised. you must actually take the time to do 4-5 sets of pull ups every other day if you want to improve. Doing pushups will not help in your pull ups . Gym work helps a lot but i personally find the pullup machine in gym useless for training pullups. Your better off using the lat pulldown and chest press as well as free weights for bicep curl
ceecookie SG for me i dont exercise...i grow tall by consuming alot of beef and a glass of choco milk per day...so now im right at the last bar of "normal"...after that's "overweight"
wadsad SG its not inclined pull up my fren... aiya... jog more to increase ur stamina then to do more pull ups u everyday go to the bar and hang for like a few mins then slowly wil improve...like aft 1 mth at least can do 3 pull up....dun expect to do like 10 in a mth...
sinicker SG work out. when i entered jc, my 2.4 timing abt 13.30... 0 chin-ups.. joined a sports CCA.. play2.. run2.. and in NAPFA JC2, i ran 10.00 for 2.4, 9 chin-ups. all stations 5 points except sit & reach. JC2 was the only time in my studying years i got a gold for NAPFA. so you should start working out too.
darknessfall SG actually, its not a weird prob... who told you can jump means can run and do pull ups? anyway, running is train up thru endurance and persevrance. pull ups, like some said, must do reps, even if its just 2-3 pull per rep make it a habit to do pull up till your shoulder(over grip) or your biscep(under grip) is strong lor
Simple_Bear SG Diff ppl respond diff to the machines. I personally like using the pull up machines more than using lat pulldowns. I use pull ups and barbell rows as the main exercises for my back.
polarsnake SG I think that's a lil too skinny. I'm 167cm and 50kg. And I'm already very skinny for a girl. Not to mention when you're 176 and 59 kg... Guys at my height should already have at least 10+ more kg than me. And guys at 176 should should have at least 20 kg more than me. That means you should maybe be 70kg or something like that... I think it's your lack of muscles. And you should eat more too.
