They will definitely give a bulk of DDs to Sv 190... But SMRT does not have experience with DDs... Why add to the problems of 190... Better to try out on 963...

The reason very obvious,SMRT doesnt have enough high capacity buses to play around..exclusively for feeders and short trunk routes

To add on, 182 and 193, which uses DDs, passbys Jurong Camp, SAFTI MI and Pasir Laba Camps and particularly Jurong Camps and Pasir Laba Camps are quite sensitive with Intellenge, Signals units as well as TRADOC.

169 had DDs previously. Not sure if spying would be so easy from just a heightened level of DD.

But thank you for agreeing that 169 does need more bendies. It has a very unique route with very little parallel options to offer unlike many other services like 167, 854, 980 which I am ok if get DDs later as there are other options.

169 has bi-directional high-loading, and it really shocks me that the bus is always packed to door and there is no real effort taken to correct the situation.

already given 3x BSEP fleet add is not real effort to correct the situation?.... and if u see the trend, Sv169 will be getting DDs... but not in the next three months... maybe next year..... the press release only show the services that will be getting in the next 3 months...

If i am not wrong 3rd signal battleron is based inside Jurong Camp.

Not enough because people still have to squeeze in for long distances. Look at 168 that has full fleet DDs with 65-70 pax on board and in contrast almost every 169 bus gets 70 pax squeezing into rigids at most times. You still see people cannot board bus especially at Admiralty/Seneko towards Woodlands in PM. Likewise always issues at Yishun, where people left behind. With more bendies/DDs, this issue will be resolved.

169 doesnt ply expressways so its quite okay la bro where 168 loadings is mostly long distance commuters..But i do agree putting 3-4 DDs will create no harm.

But 169 also has long distance travelers. Most people who board at Mayflower take the bus to Yishun. And PM when you board near Woodlands / Seneko industrial belt, you will see most people alight only at and after Yishun MRT, many traveling all the way to Mayflower.

Frankly after 169 goes full Wldep all freq and deployments screw up,Last time partial Amdep Split bendies go off svc only from 1950-2045..with 2-3 bendies still ply full day..Wldep after 2100hrs only see 2-3 bendies the most.

Loading between Mayflower and Upper Thomson can, but not between Yishun and Woodlands - will still need high capacity buses.

Also to add.. the area around Canberra that is served only by sv 169 today is getting huge developments (there will be more services coming here). People working in Woodlands/Admiralty will prefer to move to these new HDBs if they are living away, further increasing loads on 169.
