BSEP so not from SMRT?
What logo is it carrying? Who's driving the bus? Where do
complains go to? Who sets its timetable?
The purpose of BSEP additions is to provide a boost in bus
capacity during a time slot where it is not operationally
profitable to the opco to add further buses due to various reasons
(such as short trip demands, lack of pax, etc). The company knows
very well where this gapping holes are and simply uses gov't
funding to plug them.
By saying it is not from SMRT simply denying that all these
buses are not operated by them, despite the fact that they are but
is paid by BSEP funds.
There is a difference between BSEP deployment and SMRT
deployment. BSEP has been fleet addition that got upgraded once
E500s came in. That's why the regos are also registered
differently. Apart from BSEP DDs, SMRT needs to upgrade its bendy
slots on 106 to DD.
