     The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be building a new Sungei Seletar bus depot, off Yio Chu Kang Road beside the Seletar Expressway (SLE) and Sungei Seletar Simpang Kiri river. This is to accommodate the growing bus fleet that will support higher service standards under both the expanded Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) and the Government Contracting Model (GCM) for the public bus industry in Singapore.

2.   The LTA is calling a tender today to invite contractors to submit their cost proposals to build the Sungei Seletar bus depot.

3.   When completed by third quarter 2017, the Sungei Seletar bus depot will accommodate about 500 buses and will be equipped with facilities for daily bus operations, bus repair and maintenance, bus parking, offices, rest area for bus drivers and canteen. An access road will also be built to serve the depot. The bus depot will be handed over to the Public Transport Operator for outfitting and preparatory works before operations can commence.

4.   Besides bus depots, the government has built bus parks to support the additional buses introduced under the BSEP. Since 2012, two bus parks^[1] have been built to support BSEP, while two other bus depots^[2] are under construction.

This should make you happy cbb bro.. ur long time wish for new amk depot is now coming true.

Looks like it will be used for next tender package. So in next tender round we can expect AMK, YCK and Yishun services to go under tender.

Dont think AMK cause the current SMRT Amdep might be an expansion for SBST Amdep..Might be for Yishun,Sembawang and future Simpang towns..Obviously Mandai is for CCK,Bt Panjang and probably Yew Tee.Great,Next we might see Ayer Rajah replacement and new Sengkang bus park to supplement Hougang.

See if it's permitted by LTA to give a company to own or mix with 2 or 3 ops... If 2 or 3 ops, means like the Bulim tender, which might see Wrights & E500, Citaros & A22 together... Bendies only if SMRT permit to own that place under LTA or like I said, mix ops...

See if there is any tender going on in year 2016 & 2017 for that depot...

They will proposed a new road access to and fro Yio Chu Kang Rd which might relieve congestion along Lentor/YCK Rd at night if buses return to depot

And dont forget only 20% of the routes is going to be tendered out only and the rest of the 80% will be still be operated by the two incumbents till end of license life..So the wayang is still be the same

I think with Seletar coming in, the depot requirement is quite well fulfilled for now.

Seletar might also help with taking Punggol services given it has to go just SLE, TPE to PGL.

Very much possible that Yishun, PGL under Seletar... This way HGDEP relieved for sengkang/HG/SGN services.

AMDEP can continue to support AMK/Bishan/YCK.

Wldep/ WLBP can support sembawang and WDL towns.

Kjdep focuses on CCK/BPJ

LYDEP does Pasir Ris/airport/Changi village

BNDEP does UEC, Bedok and Eunos

See who win the contract first..If SMRT wins then Yishun definately be the one.If YCK included in the list then it can be the one also.By 2017 Kranji might be gone already.Who knows by this year another depot is planned?

Cgbp and Bndep might be gone if the 550 lots Changi Integrated depot is ready.

Kranji and probably Bukit Batok might be gone if Mandai integrated depot is ready

Heard from friends that the depot is more to Punggol and Sengkang Svc in future,39 might start from this depot too.Guess Yishun and Sembawang will be under Mandai.

Also heard there is plans for a bus park at Lim Chu Kang near CCK there and also a couple of depots near central region..Quite good news.
