New Denso A/C units on SBST Scania K230UB Euro IV

Hi all, SBS8302C is no longer the only Euro IV KUB with a new white Denso LD8u aircon unit (same as MAN A22). I have noticed a few other KUBs refitted with the new aircon unit.

List of buses spotted with new aircon units:

SBS8034B (SLBP 174)

SBS8042C (SLBP 183)

SBS8047P (SLBP SP)

SBS8056M (SLBP 174)

Not sure why SLBP is refitting these Euro IV KUBs with the new aircon units...

SBS8302C roof aircon pod has already been repainted from white to red for quite sometime already. i think these buses mentioned had their aircon pod replaced but was not repainted to red only.

I dont really know if its true but some sources say that the new ac unit consume less power than the old ones...Hahaha

That is correct. LD8i is 68 amp, while LD8u is 65 amp (both at 24V DC). The LD8u also has a higher cooling capacity.

No wonder,Especially with Scania lower output of 230hp/1050nm its wiser to change.

SBS8064P has it too. From the looks of it, SLBP is changing them in rego sequence, so it is likely that SBS8048L has also gotten it, can anyone check?

You mean the A/C filter? Will need to check on one of the buses refitted with the new A/C units...

Add on 8041E too. It is probably due to the ac unit being less powerful in coldness. Some 80xx and couple of euro iv are having some issues
