Actually, there're quite a few reasonable places for a budget of
S$50/- for 2 
Ichiban (Plaza Sing): Don't go for the conveyor-belt sushi, just
order the ala carte meal items. It's quite value for money, &
yummy too.
Shinbashi (Paragon basement): They have lunch sets that are very
delicious. The decor is elegant, Not so "budget" looking, but
prices are reasonable & the quality excellent.
Din Tai Feng (Paragon basement): Yummy mainland china food that's
quite budget priced, but the taste is great. I especially LURVE
their dan4 chao3 fan4.
Indonesian restaurant at Paragon basement: Very yummy tauhu telor
& chicken korma. Just don't take their kambing soup, it's Not
served piping hot. At that kinda price, you can order quite a no.
of dishes, it'll fill you up.
