This is my honest opinion, so don't be offended, ok?
Actually, I think Mao Mao & you may stand a chance together,
both of you have chemistry, which is pretty important in a
relationship, especially the start of it.
However, since you're still stuck in an unhappy relationship, do
what is necessary 1st. Don't measure the amount of love both of you
have for each other. If he doesn't act like he loves you (i.e. lip
service only), then it's time to be brave. The most cowardly thing
to do is to hang on because of a familiar past & being afraid
of an uncertain future.
If you don't take the step back from the edge of the building, you
may lose your balance in the end anyway & fall. Why commit
emotional suicide? 
Ultimately, you still have us here, we'll be around to comfort you
too. And if at the end, you decide you want to be with Mao Mao,
then as a goodwill gesture (sisterly gesture also lah), I'll also
waive the matchmaker fee for Mao Mao so you guys can live happily
ever after
