Yeah, it's really freakin' hot
But
the evenings were quite alright when it was early summer. There was
the night market at Victoria Market, & they sell seafood &
even wine in plastic cups. There would also be a section with
plastic tables & chairs for you to sit with your food &
drink, & listen to the free live band playing.
Sometimes, there would be animals such as miniature show ponies,
camels, etc. Kids lurved those
There were also stalls selling your flea market treasures, indian
jewel-coloured cushions, funky accessories, bags, vintage [read:
2nd hand] clothes, ornaments, etc.
Summer also brings to mind the fresh mixed berries & ice cream
I used to have. The berries were so fresh & were so delicious
with the cold vanilla ice cream, the taste was what you dreamed of
for autumn & winter. And prawn & mango cocktails tasted
best during summer also
By the way, I just HAVE to mention something ridiculous: when I was
there in summer, I celebrated CNY there. Went to Chinatown, &
found that a can of abalone (to put in my family's fatt choy
porridge) was A$20/- cheaper than a can of clams
