Hi mr Jurongwestresident, I am afraid you reply without reading the gist of my initial view. I think what you are saying is not true. My version is correct. When timings for MRTs are extended at nights for eve of public holidays, take note LRTs are also extended instead of bus services FOR THOSE TOWNS HAVING LRTs. Did you read these words 'FOR THOSE TOWNS HAVING LRTs'? They prefer LRT to buses for these towns and did not extend the bus timings. If you have read this, your lengthy replies will not be able to substantiate your points. Your points are for those towns where there is no LRT and of course feeder bus services have to be extended to complement MRT last timings. This one everybody knows. Cheers.

I did NOT say buses be eliminated completely. My point is that the LRT is definitely a useful system in its ways, and definitely NOT a white elephant! Where are your evidences?! all about the points on static routing etc. Are just your instinctive personal insights! But the crowded LRT cars really dont lie! If it was a white elephant it would either be empty or welcomed with overwhelming criticisms!

I am only saying buses can do the job LRT does. and for feeders buses can provide better doorstep services. if LRTs were so useful, LTA would have planned some more. But after Sengkang/Punggol, it realized, wasnt the best idea.

You just don't get it. When LRT is there, why would you duplicate resources. The whole point jurongwestresident is also making is if LRT was not there and if buses were managing the feeder network. Gosh!!

SBS Transit should NOT have extended LRT only. What about those areas without LRT serving? The residents in towns with LRTs but not one near them would have to take the LRT, and walk a long way back home!

I am not benefitting the minority by cutting the benefits of the majority, as the LRT is still extended.

They would have to be the unfortunate bunch to have to return home earlier.

Because BCs also have to rest what.

Whereas for LRT not really as it's fully automated!

Or take the night services. Haha

The LRT is a feeder for the MRT. Feeder buses are feeders for trunk bus routes. So do they serve the same purpose?

LRT is to 'feed' the passengers to the MRT. It is not a duplicate of the feeder buses. So is it still a white elephant?

Hi mr SBS3004X, I think sbs transit is right in doing so. Rest assured sbs transit will have taken all parties into consideration, be it majority or minority. Public transport is to take into account all players and not leave anybody in the lurch. Take note LRT stations are normally 1 bus stop apart. For those in close proximity to 2 LRTs, cheers. For those with 1 LRT at doorstep, cheers. For those who are not having LRTs at doorsteps, they will definitely be in walking distance (400 metres) to LRT. Sbs transit will definitely extend the timing of last bus if they find residents not to fulfill any criteria above. But fortunately, they have not needed to resort to this step yet. Cheers.

That was exactly what I was thinking!

Trains should turn back at Nibong... They couldve easily added that small stretch if there are currently no turnback facilities. And the middle platform at PTC should've been used too! Making the West stretch a good shuttle service!

I can say it's kinda stupid to use the EAST/WEST lighting sign...what if there was fault? What if passenger just dash in w/o seeing the sign?

There can be a last minute change always...like for NSL, there's times where the both the train are scheduled on TV for Platform A. But it happened that one of it changes to Platform D(announced around CCK)...

Hi mr TIB429E, if passengers just dash in without seeing the sign, you have to blame the passengers. The operator cannot cover all angles fully. Cheers.

Signalling work is better than spending thousands of dollars building a temporary u-turn track that will only be utilised for a few years soon the other stations will also be opened as well. Like this 1 LRT train would be sufficient to serve the three stations for now. There isnt any huge demand also, it's best to save resources. It would be 8 - 10 mins for the LRT to arrive
