How could break-ups ever be painless? Why would a couple want to
break up if they were perfectly happy and didn't feel any pain in
the relationship?
If there is no pain during or after the break-up, there probably
was so much pain in the relationship that the break-up brought
wanted relief to both sides.
If there is neither pain during the break-up nor immediately before it, the
break-up is probably just a formality. The relationship had already
died a long time ago. Definitely not the fastest way.
