hi, everyone,

just to ask will a person get into trouble if they smsed people using an anonymous prepaid SIM card.....

my fren used such a card to sms her enemies with messages insulting them with a little vulgarities...then they smsed her back saying they suspect they noe who she is

my question is : can she still get into trouble if she sends such smses...she was deeply hurt by the boyfren of the gal she smsed to..

if they confront her, can she deny it as there is no proof she owns the prepaid sim card....no evidence, can they go to police to catch her..she is very scared now...

Hmm.... she can get into trouble. As far as i know, even if u del away all the sms in prepaid card or wat, there is a storage system in the telecom companies. they can always be retreived.

If the enemy wans to pursue it, she can get into trouble. If they dun wish to, shes fine. I guess if shes hurt, she can always find a fren to comfort her. That is better than doing sth which only temp solves the problem.

Can those people proved that the sms sent was sent by your friend? If they cant prove it, as in they dont know who is the owner of that number, they cant do a thing. The Law requires proof.

Yup, if she gets confronted she can always deny that she owns that SIM card. Best is ask her to remain silent and not answer any of their questions. Unlikely police can do a thing also...unless they have a device that can track the location of the SIM card anywhere in singapore...

Every prepaid card has its numbers. The telecom company will store the sms with sender's data. If wana pursue, thats it. Law requires proof yes and prrof is there.

1) police hack care about this type of civil case

2) the other party need to hire a lawyer to sue your friend.

3) telcos cannot even care what you do. you can try to call their hotline and see if you ever can get through.

my fren got insulted by the bf of the gal...the SIM card got no proof wat,i think, i read that the system can only keep the messages if they are not downloaded,if its downloaded already..it wld only be kept in the hps of the two persons (the one who sent and the one who received

even if the messages sent are rude, it doesnt prove my fren sent it..correct or not..if not, the police wld be damn busy liao loh...

my fren still very worried, she is angry with the guy becuz he insulted her using verbal words in jokes that dun seem funny...

hope my fren dun get into trouble, if not the police very busy already...

the SIM card wld be recycled after three months if the holder does not top up...so hopefully nothing can be done to her...

smthgs the anger is really very hard to bear.....the card not very expensive, very cheap only wat, according to my fren about $20 or so..

he really insulted her and said things that she can do well in her job just becuz she wears a skirt and made other insulting remarks on her fidelity...

so my fren got damn mad...anyway...if the police can get proof then alot of pple in trouble liao, am sure she is not the only one who does that...

with such smses received, can her enemies bring it to police station and tell the police they suspect her?
