From my experience, my boss was disappointed but he knew my
decision was final. We are still frens, he himself has left the
company and became an MD in another. Occassionally we are still
SMSg. 
As for my new workplace, the pple here are good. Work hours are
great. Work is boring in my opinion but it made me achieve 1 impt
thing, I suit the previous role better working in operations.
Currently, I am sticking around here and I am opening my eyes to
look for a similar job (hey, if u intend to leave ur current
company, maybe u can recommend me?? Serious!) that I did in my
ex-co. I won't return to my ex-co due to their "current"
situation...they had restructured again cos the Director of Ops (my
boss) and Director of Finance had left.
Overall, I think the decision I made is right.
