Is it worth taking up a $4.50/hr job?

Is it worth taking up a $4.50/hr customer service job at a local coffee chain? The advantage of this job is time is flexible and is suitable for people like me who study FT and work PT. Salary would gradually increase but I see it would be around $5.00/hr. I'm offered the job and supposed to sign the letter of appointment on wednesday(today).

However, I've been called up for an interview from a local telco coy for part-time call-centre position (CSO) for this Friday and pay wise would be definately much higher. I'm more interested in this job cos' working venue is closer to my home. The only disadvantage is working hrs is not as flexible, 5 evenings per week.

Which should I choose?

i’ll go for the higher pay since going to spend same amount of time. schedule can be adjusted.

Choose the line of work that suits your school schedule. No point working your arse off and failing your exams in the end. Set your priorities right.

since the signing of the letter is today, I'll sign the letter.. n try out the job. if u dun like it, quit before i need to commit to the telco job..

rem that fri is only an interview at the telco.. touch wood la.. but may or may not get the job ma.

at least this way u have more options n more time to decide.

Dude....u are a full-time student....not part-time. Whatever you do, it must not affect whatever you are doing full-time.

If I were you....stick to the kopitiam job. I know its more money but its not top of priority. Studies first man!!!!

Weigh among...

1. Balance for work and studies.. Time management wise.

2. Pay. How much you need? How much are you aiming for?

3. Venue. Consider factors like travel time (which might affect your studies time and schedule; make you tired if too long distance?), $ needed for travel.

4. Personal interest and how tiring (boring) the job might be? This on the long term might affect your studies?

5. Continue to find out for more part-time jobs if possible...

go for it lah.. got $4.50 already still complain... the government say cannot be to choosy ar.. so many ppl no job know... u think u are some "talent" like our mp that get paid 10K a mth to sleep during the parliment meeting ar? Mr. Green
