if a guy keeps initiating contact to a gal, but when the gal responds, he does not show any mroe interest than a normal frienship, is the guy interested in the gal? for example, the guy will e-mail the gal, then come out, they tokk about everything under the sun, the guy seems happy to see her, but also want to draw a line and will go back early. And then it stops there. Then the guy will contact the gal again, and if the gal don respond, the guy will sms the gal, like concerned. But when gal respond, it stops there.

why is the guy acting like that? how can a gal tell if the guy likes her?

Simply drag/invite another friend along...preferably another guy who is not interested in you but is your good/true friend who's best when he's g.a.y. Smile
So that if he needed to go back early, you can make plans with your remaining friend to make him jealous/frustrated/confused.

You may be interested in him and wants to know if he's interested in you. I can tell you he is interested in you. Whether it is true love or just toying around, I do not know...only he will know it. But I can tell you clearly that if he's plotting around with your emotions, he's so not worth your love. Imagine if this were to happen to any of your daughters in the future...that they met a guy similar to him. Won't you be put off by his actions? Evil or Very Mad

Decide for yourself if this guy is really worth this frustration afterall.

actually the guy is nice and a decent person, it is this that attracted the gal to him, so cannot udnerstand why would he want to play mind games. His cold-hot attitude is making the gal frustrated, as Parn wrote...... this cold-hot thingy has been going on for about 8month and the gal feels that this is all going nowhere.

sighh... is 8months too short? or is it enough to know whether the guy or gal is suitable for you???????

anyway, siti, there's no need to fret abt when the guy will take the initiative to express himself to ur fren... the duration of their friendship, to me, is not a factor.. be it 8 wks or 8 months... frankly, if a guy is mawkish when it comes to BGR, i believe more trouble than good is on the way... if ur fren cant take it any longer, may b it's also a gd idea to make the first move and ask what is on his mind...

it is only wise knowing when to move on...

Just as a girl may sometimes want a guy to be her "best guy friend" instead of her boyfriend, perhaps this guy may also want the girl to be his "best girl friend" instead of his girlfriend?

Maybe he is a very shy and timid guy when it comes to taking the first step to develop the friendship? Maybe he is a very patient and cautious guy and is still evaluating the girl to see if she is the one for him?

The girl may wish to drop a few hints to test the waters. For example, next time if he suggests to end the date early, she could ask him to keep her company for a little while longer.
