plo30360 SG Was studying in tp, got removed from the course. Not sure what to do now. Should I apply for another course or go for early NS? I'm going to be 18 in July. Though I doubt the chances of getting into a another course is going to be easy.Maybe A'levels as a private candidate or those private institutes(but heard they are expensive)that give diplomas. Thanks for any advice.
plo30360 SG Got removed because I failed my 2 of core subjects(Eng maths and Eng Fund) in both attempts. The rest of my subjects B+
Gwy85 SG Okie.. go apply for other POLY.. like NYP.. Sure take u.. i gt friend who fail at SP.. regisister for NYP..
plo30360 SG Was in Info-Comm, its a IT course but for some reason its under engneering school. Therefore must take eng maths and eng fund, even though they have nothing to do with the course.Plenty of the lecturers and even the course manger himself said so.
Apollo_sg SG how to beat the system? seriously get ur parents arrange meet the MP to write to TP for a 2nd chance. and if u do get in, pls put in more efforts.
BeEtHoVeN SG the course manager can help u too, talk to your course manager but if your attandance is full of absents, then it is quite hard for u to get in, since u din put in the effort
M©+square SG Going into Ns first will benefit you in sense of mindset and responsiblity. But you'll not be able to get into OCS or Sispec.
drx SG Eng maths and Eng Fund are the basic tools you need to help you in the eng course. I too did not realise their importance until I reach uni level. Do you have any friend who are good in both subjects who can help you?
iveco SG What have Engineering Mathematics and Engineering Fundamentals got to do with Info-communications? Isn't Info-communications somewhat akin to media studies?
drx SG schools here try to equip students with everything they can. Are you sure that the next job he will have is an IT job and he will never ever change job? i got a firend who is in the eng course but in the end went to logistic line, but she was lucky cos she did a subject in tp for logistic and had a chance to enter.
dibilo SG go NS 1st. 1 benefit is shorter serving period. while u are in army, find out if u are allowed to do part time studies. alternatively, u may want to flip the papers for overseas universities offering diploma/degree programs.
Xcert SG now standard 2 years already mah....serve ns first is to let him decide what he wants to do.
nuchio SG agree going to NS may give you a sense of new direction, let you grow up emotionally or discover potentials. after that can still go back to poly meanwhile in NS you can study part time if you can spare the time
