Bus fares up on some SBS
routes
SBS Transit will raise fares on its 41 non-basic bus
routes - the Nite Owl, Parks, Chinatown Direct and Premium
services.
The new fares will come into effect on Sunday, Aug 3, the public
transport operator said on Friday. It added that the Public
Transport Council had approved its application to revise the
fares.
Depending on the route, adult fares will go up
between 10 and 70 cents.
Adult fares for the six Nite Owl routes will
increase by between 10 and 20 cents, while senior citizen fares
will go up by five and 10 cents. Student fares will increase by
five cents.
For Parks Service 408 and the three Chinatown
Direct routes, adults pay 10 cents more, while senior citizens and
students will pay five cents more.
Meanwhile, children aged under seven who are now
paying a fare on those 10 services will get to enjoy free travel.
Those taller than 0.9m will need a vaild child concession card to
enjoy this benefit.
SBS Transit will raise adult fares for its 31
Premium bus services by 20 to 70 cents.
