citaro is full made by Mercedes so don't know what gear box the company using to the bus. it own gear box? also there is a problem the exhaust pipe is on the left side of the bus, so after five or six years people waiting at the bus stop might get black smoke on to them. maybe sbst get citaro and smrt get man bus when come to contract operators, get mix model of bus? also don't forget the smrt DD buses.

Mercedes does not make any gearbox for the Citaros. However, the Voith DIWA 4 speed is offered by Mercedes as the standard transmission and ZF Ecolife 6 speed as an option to the Citaros.

Agreed, the ZF Wrights are much better in performance and sound nicer than the boring Voith... SBS Transit, bring back the ZF Wrights!

Actually theres not much diff between Voith and ZF,however with SBST siao top and low end restriction Voith seems so lagging during accelerate.Ive drive a speedy buses with Voith and slower ones with ZF too..

By next year i think Volvo has stopped produce B9TL and will be replace by the new Euro 6 B8TL with either 280 or 320hp though i prefer the latter.Im surprised they didnt want the B8RLE or who knows there will be low floor variant of B8L?

I doubt it. If there was a better emissions standard or a new version of the product, they would have announced it as their main selling point.

Well i feel its just like the Citaros theyre buying now although other countries start operation with the facelift one..Probably huge discount..

Aint too sure Mr GusChong but they did mention about euro iv though so it might be the latest version..It will be a huge discount if they still buy the B9TL..

Where did they mention about Euro VI? On the official press release it stated Euro V. I was thinking that it's still the old facelift Citaro but with the daytime LEDs (post 2012 version).

As for the Wright it should just be a minor facelift too to include the LEDs.

The recently installed telemetrics on newer SMRT Buses did not help. Instead of cruising naturally, BCs are now forced to brake frequently to keep the buses under 55km/h.

Already you can see many Wrights cameoing on JIS services already.

Thats why i hate Sg heavy vehicle speed limiter imposed on buses especially,Should have limit to 65kmh max the best..under 60 carbon will clogged inside the exaust system and its unhealthy for the engine too..Once a while engine need to blast to clear carbon built up..

Citaro a cannot manage heavy loads. But the cherry on the icing is the bigger order of DDs. Hence, if Citaros are doing the off-peak direction of a service, should be okay.

Its good if they purchase Citaro LE also..great for svc 3/27..
