Timing matters too. Sometimes, it's an unfortunate case of the
right person, at the wrong time. At different stages of our lives,
we focus on different things. Maybe when we meet the right person,
we weren't ready for commitment yet? Sometimes, we meet the right
person but we ourselves aren't right yet for him/her. Or, two right
people meet but one chickens out. So many variables, so many
maybe's...
Love and relationships are risky investements, so to speak. It
doesn't mean that by 'investing' years in a relationship, you'll
get 'returns'. Sometimes, a perfectly good relationship just cannot
weather the attrition of time.
The best thing to do is to just live in the moment and enjoy life
in the here and now.
