I think man doesn't say thanks or sorry easily. But they are
grateful in their hearts especially if you have helped them a
lot.
Your dad may not say thanks but he would do other things like
buying a gift, for you, doing something for you in return, or
praising you infront of other people etc to express his gratitude
to you. Don't worry, parents are great! They know it when you do
something for them.
