shade343 SG I took some time just now and decided to go to the beach. While strolling, I meditated about my problems and focused my thoughts. I felt really hopeless. The waters were so tempting and I just felt like throwing myself in and drown myself in the deep waters...but then something struck me. I realised that suicide was not the way out. That powerful voice in the back of my head spoke out loud. It was then I saw myself as someone great. I saw myself as somebody who would be useful to the community. I saw myself as somebody who had great potential. I thought about the advice you people at sgforums gave me. Yes. 19 points is not the end of the world. There are much better things to look forward to. A dead person would be useless to society, If Im Alive at least I can be someone who can contribute to society. Thank you all who had posted advice on my previous thread. Your words of encouragement has greatly lifted my spirits. I now look forward to being somebody in life .
icyprincess SG Remember, whatever happens, happens for a reason. Happiness and success in life is not determined by your academic result alone. There are so many people who did not even make it to college, but ended up being very successful people in the world. I have read some of their stories in the paper, and have known some of these people too.. What matters is the strength and perservarance inside you, have courage to face the world and you will be fine! All the best and glad that you have thought things thru i.c.y
shade343 SG Its L1 R4. I finally settled on the real estate course My first choice was the Mass comm course....
smoke SG Hi shade343, Come on, 19 points isn't that bad. You are already eligible for many courses in Polytechnic and it is a good time for you to reflect what else you can and may like to do, rather than being a stick in the mud and harp on something you cannot change. After all, I had 25 points for my O's 10 years back and I'm still here replying to you. I'm happy doing so many other things even though I did not get into the course I THOUGHT I would want so much. Don't waste your time any longer dwelling on the past, move forward and take another path to reach the ultimate goal in the end!
niceguy_123 SG Attempting Suicide... Foolish. Bad Karamic Actions. Once the seed is planted. For Seven lives, the cycle will be repeated. Be Warn!
DriftingGuy SG 19 points is nothing la.. can still enter JC or even poly... Just tell yourself that once you enter poly, you will study hard (& play hard) and then enter the top 10%... after that can enter Uni and end up better than pple who score better than u and enter JC then Uni hahaha...
gerrykoh SG Hey 19 pts. is good, there are pple who are worst off. Go poly open hse. there are many new courses avail. Don't fight with everyone to get into life sciences & bio-tech. U may like to try Hotel & tourism or animation. Apply for sometime u have passion for. Most imp. is to enjoy what u are learning. Remember as long as u are good in what u do, u can make it! The best hawkers don't go sch. but they have long queues of customers
BaByBoY SG Don dwell on how bad you are... Instead, feel blessed that you can do lots of things w your present life. Life aint just about results, it`s more than what you tink life is spare a thought for how wonderful ur future may be Live strong and wise BaByBoY
