I read under buddhist study, the type of man/woman u meet is
caused by your karma. So u are destined to meet this same type of
man/woman in your life. To change your karma, you will need to
reflect upon yourself first, any bad qualities that you need to
change in order to attract the right type of man/woman.
There was one fortune teller say I have a male character so I tend
to attract men who listen to me and if i say 1, they do not dare to
say 2. He say it's not good because even though they are nice in
front of me, they tend to stray behind my back. So I must be more
feminine and try to accomodate so
that I can attract man with strong character. 
How true issit is up to individual to believe.
