Hi ALL,

My mom has a slight problem when dealing with people who shouts or taking a bigger tone with her. She gets emotional very easily, she cries and she gets slightly out of control sometimes. Being her kid has been a lesson of knowing what to say and doing the right things... because if i say anything which provokes her or makes her sad, she will threated to kill herself.

I'm seeking advices when dealing with a mom who is abit emotionally unstable sometimes.

wah lao, she might be sufferign from depression. Mother is the best, take care of her. stand up for her when she is being bullied.

i think she needs counselling and professional help...

try your hardest to bring it up gently... if you are asian, heck.. there's still a stigma attached to those who see counsellors and shrinks... but sounds like she really needs one...

heck.. approach the institute of mental health about how to bring this up to your mom and they'll probably help you guide her gently or bring this up gently to your mom so that she can get the help she needs..

if she threaten to kill herself, it means she doesnt value her life. so you should hire a professional killer to end her life.

take care your mom well and look for the professionals to seek help. it is hard if u lose your mother, i would know the feeling. take good care of her.

How many siblings you have? How old are you? How old are your siblings if any? What is your father doing about the whole thing?

Well, I have a elder brother who is really one sweety pie. He is 2 years older than i do and has a better temper than me as well.

Of course he do not have the problem with her so much like i do with my mom.

I guess I have to be blamed whenever I make her go mad. I have to change my kind of tone whenever I speak to her and making sure that i wouldn't say stuff that she doesn't like to hear.

Therefore its kinda like in a pressure pot in the house, one wrong step and mama cries. Who's fault, Mine! Shocked

My father also felt that kind of pressure. But he doesn't say much about it, he just kept it inside.

But sometimes, its really hard to communicate. Laughing

4 members in my family. My dad, mum, older bro and me.
My dad has a very summissive attitude...pa lao puo.....

My older bro..mama's boy.. but very rash temper. Recently argue with him.. coz I just comment " He never offend you, why you always see him buay song.." , he then say " Then? Now you see me buay song la! " Then argue.
He muscular mah, then wanna beat me, make until my father nearly kneel down and beg him...FUK him la! No respect! If my father really kneel down ar, I take out baseball bat hit my bro's head liao! He always make stupid comments and if I dont laugh at his stupid comments ar, he say I see him buay song... LAME ASS CB!

My mother...haiz...mouth very li hai...argue with her sure lose. Sometimes i do nothing or just give some comments then see think I not happy, then argue liao...very...FK up lor...Like nothing also wanna flare up...She Fker sia!

I have a dad who flares up very easily. Everytime he does something wrong, or doesn't understand anything, depending on who's at that certain place, its either me or my sister who gets blamed.

Its very silly, and yea, its really hard to communicate with him sometimes, but what can i do? He's my dad after all. I can only make sure that i won't be like him when i grow up.

Swallow the anger, and let it disperse in some other way, since talking to him doesn't seem to help.

I guess most of the parent suffers from a certain degree of depression from the pressure of the world we are now living. As their children, perhaps we should treat them with kindness. i find that if you treat anger with anger, there will be no way out of the situation.

The situation will only change for the better if one party starts to forgive and eventually the other party will change too.

Guess it's just part of getting along with people around you...? just that in this case, your family members would be much 'closer' to you as you're living under the same roof...? Wink
